Fun news for my sisters' families - TWINS!

Yes, the apostrophe is correct, both of my sisters are expecting twins. One is due within the next three weeks and the other just found out and is due in September.

What are the odds?!

Just wanted to share. My family is excited, although I was concerned that the news about the second set was going to do my Mom in - she was pretty freaked out after the announcement of the first set!

How exciting! Congrats to your families--both of them ;-). That is pretty amazing odds!

We had an article in our local paper last month about a family in a similar situation. One sibling had a set of ID boys, the other sibling had a set of frat girls three months older. Plus....the grandma was an ID twin herself. They had a picture of all the twins together. It was pretty neat.

I have ID twin girls who are 4..but they're the only ones on either side of our families.

Wow!!! How exciting!!! I am so happy for you! I just found out last week that my brother is expecting a child in September. This will be my first niece or nephew(they think just one baby). I would be REALLY excited if it was twins, but not getting my hopes up!! I will be happy with either a niece or nephew, but a niece would be nice because I have two boys myself. I am so looking forward to the moment the little one is born!!!!!

Congratulations!! Best advice I can give which a father of two sets of twins told us -sleep as much as you can now & when you think you have slept enough, go back to sleep!! Once the first couple of months are over, the real fun begins!! My twins just turned 6 & we know two couples that have two sets each!
Must be something in the water!!

My sister had identical twin girls as her first kids. Then I had fraternal twin boys as my last kids. No other family members with twins. They told my sister that hers were that one in a million--luck of the draw---because there is no family history. So imagine my suprise when I went in for what I thought was baby no#4 and it turned out to be no#4 and 5! My sisters girls were almost 3 months early and were in the hospital for almost 3 months--no lasting problems of prematurity My boys were 3 weeks early and came home with me in 3 days. Lots of fun with a total of 9 kids between my sisters family and mine.

Twins are fun! I have two sets...fraternal boy and girl and identical girls. Both spontaneous. They are wonderful! Congrats to your family!!

Wonderful news! I remember how thrilling it was when I found out I was having twins! ( I have fraternal twin girls).

The best and most helpful advice which was given to me (which I resisted at first) was to get the babies on the same schedule for sleeping and eating.
It is challenging, especially with fraternal twins, but worth it in the end.

We also just found out that my cousin and his wife are also expecting twins in July...a boy and a girl. They had no clue that they were having 2 until they just had their first (and only) big ultrasound and were shocked! They also have a daughter who just turned 1 in November. LOL 3 babies under the age of 2 years!

Funny thing is, my cousin's wife also has a sister who is also expecting twin girls in April! LOL Their parents finally became grandparents and are getting 5 in less than 2 years! It took my parents 7 years to get a second grandbaby! LOL

Don't be scared! Or tell them not to be scared. My twins and my single are all of 14 months apart. It can be done and sanity will once again return. At least for a little while, I'll let you know if I lose it again after they become teenagers.

Twins are so much fun. We have 5 kids, the twins have such a bond that the others don't have. sometimes i think everyone else is jealous.
