This morning, I get a call from the middle school nurse.
Seems my son was biking in gym class and went over the handle bars. The nurse tells me he is ok, but believes the laceration on his chin will require stitches.
I get in the car and head to the school. I try to reach the pedetrician to see if he can be checked out there first, but for some screwy reason, my cell phone wasn't working properly.
When I picked my son up, his chin was already bandaged, so I just headed for the ER. 2 hours later, we are finally seen. The doctor comes and quickly determined that he did NOT need stitches. She said that the school nurses are known for sending kids in just to protect the school.
I am happy my son doesn't need stitches and aside from a sore jaw, is no worse for the wear (anyone remember the header Kirk took off his bike a couple months ago when his bike broke, literally in 2 pieces!!
). I think the next time the school nurse calls me for something like this, I am removing the band-aid BEFORE heading to the ER!!
Wonder what the neosprin and band-aid will cost!!
