We are going to WDW in April, and I have a brother who is 13. What fun things can we do, places to eat etc. which will entertain him? He does like Disney, and the rides in the parks will be great for him too, but what fun things are there to do out of the parks, or hidden things in the parks? We are going for 2 weeks, and most likely just doing WDW.

Thank You,
princess:.

My 13 DS loves Disney Quest in Downtown Disney. He loves designing his own roller coaster. We spent about half the day there.

I was just going to say Disney Quest also! :rotfl:

That place is made for the 12-16 year old crowd.

Over at Beach Club, they have watermice (boats) that you can drive/operate if you are at least 12 years old and 5 foot tall. At the GF/Poly/CR lake area you have to be 16 to operate the watermice (they go faster). The ones at Beach Club are slower, but still a lot of fun! You can take them down to the entrance of MGM. My twin DDs were 11 last summer when we were there, so now that they are 12 that is one of the highlights for our upcoming trip. They can't wait to operate one of these boats!

Then you can stop in to Beaches and Cream at Beach Club and order a KITCHEN SINK and see if guys can finish it (our family of 4 tried 3 years ago and couldn't......maybe now that the girls are older it would be possible).

Disney Quest and the water parks. My 13 year old would live there if I let him.

Yes, the waterparks too! I almost forgot those! TL has a really cool water roller coaster (forget the name). It was great fun for my kids!

Well as a mom with 3 teen boys I would say for restraunts:
1. ESPN, this is for sports nuts, by the boardwalk
2. Coral Reef (Epcot)- what could be more cooler than being surrounded by fish?
3. For BUffets, they prefer the dinner since its our one big meal of the day, They gladly put up with the characters to get the unlimited food, They like Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom and Chef Mickeys at the Contemporary.

My boys also like to spend alot of time at Disney Quest, but if you dont have a ticket that covers that option you could check out the arcade at the contemporary, its huge and my ds also like the arcade in the magic kingdom in tommorrowland, I think its by space mountain. They also like the dinoland games at the Animal Kingdom.

They have also done the horseback riding at fort wilderness, which they prononced lame, not holding their interest, They have done both the kids and family fishing trips and have done the parasailing at sammy duvals at the contemporary. Those are fun but expensive options. They have done the mouseboats too.

They love the water parks too. Overall they prefer blizzard beach but they like the wave pool at typhoon lagoon much better, that coming from my oldest ds, 17 who is a lifeguard.

Being your brother is 13 I'm sure that you are aware of the "little kiddy rides" such as peter pan and snow white. I put that in quotes becasue those rides target the younger age group. The thrill rides will be a huge hit with him, trust me. DIsney Quest is also a must he will love all the video games that are there as well as CyberSpace Mountain which is a build your own roller coaster and then ride it. The water parks are also a good idea as they have rides for all different age groups.

Fantasia miniature golf. It's more challenging than the Winter/Summerland course. The putting course knocked my husband and I for a loop and we used to golf.

My then 13 year old son put up a big fuss about going to Hoop Dee Doo, thinking it would be lame. He absolutely loved it.

I know that they raised the requirement to drive the boats at WL to licensed driver - I did not know that 12 year-olds could still "drive" the ones at BC/YC. That is great news. We always want to do this, but I'm the only licensed driver. I have one DS13 who drive with DS9 as passenger and me with DD8 as my passenger. Would this be allowed? Thanks.

They also have them at the Contemporary, Grand Floridian and the Poly. You can go to bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon. It's much bigger than the area around beach and yacht. I don't know about the new requirments, last time my dad and I did them it was about 3 years ago, i didnt even have a permit then and I was fine.

My DS will be turning 13 soon and he loves to do the pressed pennies -

My 13 year old grandson lives for Disney Quest. Last year I purchased a season pass. It's cheaper than daily tickets. He went every day we were there and stayed most of the day. I'd just give him enough money to eat. They have food available in Disney Quest. If you want daily tickets, try Ticketmania. There're much cheaper than from Disney.
