Since we are not planning on telling our two young son's(ages 6 and 4 when we go in Jan 07) about going to WDW until the night before I came up with an idea for them to be able to pick the rides they want to go on.

Using business cards and a program I have I put a small photo(found on allearsnet.com)of the ride, the name of the ride and where it was located(Magic Kingdom: Adventureland Jungle Cruise). That way on the plane they can pick a ride for the first day. I have them all broken down to the different area's of MK, MGM, Epcot, and AK. I only put on the rides I though they would like or coud handle. I think it will help them decide where they want to go and what rides they want to go on instead of wandering the park guessing at what to ride.

I can't wait to give them the books... only 7 months and 3 weeks.... :rotfl:

Wow - that's a really cool idea. I don't know how you can keep it a secret for that long! Have fun planning!

It sounds like a great idea, can you give us more descriptions, as I may have to borrow this idea.

Hopefully this will work..... Sorry if they are blurry, I had to print a copy of a sheet then take a photo...

Those are great, thanks for sharing. What a great idea. :cheer2:

That is a great idea. You might also want to get them the "Disneyworld for Kids" book. It has tons of pictures. I get one everytime we go and the kids look it over and decide what they want to do. Another idea since you'll be on a plane. If you are bringing a DVD player you could order one of the free "Disney Planning DVD's" and they could watch that on the plane too - really get them pumped up.

I'm keeping our trip a secret, too, sort of. I've told them that we're going, but I said it will be next spring. (We're really going this fall.) This way we can check out the books and vacation planner DVD and talk about it ahead of time.

We want to keep the distraction to a minimum in the pre-trip days. (DS has mild ADHD, and can get too excited very easily!) So, the surprise will be when they wake up and we say "We're going today!" (I'm still working on the particulars of the surprise.)
