Fun Home Broadway Cast Benefit for Orlando @ Dr. Phillips PAC 7/24

If you are coming down for the 10th Anniversary and enjoy Broadway shows, this may interest you.

The cast of the 2015 Tony Award winning Best Musical is staging a benefit performance for the Pulse victims in Orlando. This will be the evening of 7/24.

The musical is based off of the graphic novel by Alison Bechdel, of Bechdel Test fame. In brief, it deals with a young woman coming to terms with her own sexuality and at the same timw, trying to understand her own, deeply closeted father. It is a beautiful, touch musical and reaches across barriers of sexuality and gender to strike a chord with almost every audience member.

100% of the proceeds from this event will go to benefit charity. 50% will be contributed directly to victims. The other 50% will go to Equality Florida.

I have seen Fun Home several times on Broadway and it is definitely worth checking out. The story they are telling is revolutionary and I've never left the theatre with a dry eye.

That's wonderful! The theatre has always been an inclusive place, which is one of many reasons I love it . I can't wait to see that play, I've heard such good things.
