Hi,
I am looking for some fun restaurants to take DD8 and DD4 to while on our WDW vacation. We will do a character meal, but with the $$$ factor, thought there might be some alternatives for the other meals we'll eat.
Everyone on this board is so helpful. :thanks:

If you are looking for not so expensive buffet restaurants, try Golden Corral. It has a menuu that will cater to your ages group. Unless, the kids want to do Chuck E Cheeses.... :scared:

Noooooooo!!! No Chuck E Cheese on this vacation :crazy2:

I also could suggest Wistle Junction on I-Drive. But it would be more convenient the Golden Corral. Also there is a Cracker Barrel in the area. Other than that, you could try the Dinner theaters, but that would go higher on your expenses. I don't know if Dennys would get that far :goodvibes

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: That's *exactly* how I feel about Chuck E Cheeses! We went once b/c I thought it was something i should do or I would be depriving my child...he wouldn't even eat the pizza! It was gross...only I would eat it. Never again! I'd rather shell out for Chef Mickey's... :cool1:

Joe's Crab Shack. Fun for kids. About once a hour all the staff starts dancing to the music and the kids join it. Really a fun place.

My kids love Jungle Jims now it has gotten mixed reviews but we have been twice and we loved it both times.

If you just want a couple of cheaper meals to off-set the cost of the expensive ones, you might try ci-cis pizza or sweet tomatoes. They are both very kid friendly and very reasonable in cost to off-set your character meals.

A second vote for Jungle Jim's, tho it does get mixed reviews. Kids really do love that place, even if their parents aren't always enamored.

Speaking of Crossroads, not a full meal (well, maybe...), but there is also a Coldstone Creamery there. Perfect place for ice cream.

Only been to the Whistle Junction in DeLand, not either Orlando location, but that visit was enough to make me swear off all three locations. Vile.

Jungle Jim's has been kinda dirty the last couple of times. the Whistle Junction in Lakeland was yuk as well, but we like the one in Tampa near Busch Gardens. we've been to the one on N. I-Drive, and found it to be pretty good.

There's Rainforest Cafe--one in DTD and the other over by AK. It is interesting that there aren't more "kid oriented" restaurants off WDW property. You'd think there would be a huge market for such places... :confused3

What about breakfast at the Nick Holiday Inn? I looked on their web site, and did not see a price.

We ate at Jungle Jims a few weeks ago and it was fine. A fun place for the kids. We also like the rain forrest and the bahama breeze is a fun place. Live music and lots to see and good food.
