Well since quite a few of you thought it was a good idea to have a fun creative competition, I have decided to run a fun competition aimed at everyone. Although I had originally thought of an Easter card or similar, I have decided on "What you love about Disneyland Paris". I just felt this would be more fun for everyone and my DD certainly thought it was an excellent idea.

There will be four age groups 0 - 5, 6 - 11, 12 - 16 and adults. What you love about DLP will be different for everyone. For example it could be a favourite ride or attraction, characters, shop, food, hotel, activity etc etc. You can use pencils, crayons, felt tips, paints or even make a collage - the choice is yours. Particularly for ease of taking the photo, I think entries should be limited to an A4 size sheet of paper, as anything larger would be difficult to take one clear photo of. I'm sure the parents will be surprised by what their own children love about DLP.

Everyone should feel free to join in, including adults, and I thought this might make a nice activity during half term - unless, of course, you are actually away in the Magic! Don't worry if you're not very creative - the emphasis is more on having fun about our favourite place. I will leave the competition open until the end of February.

Once you have created your masterpiece, you should either take a photo of it or scan it if you have that facility and then like the quiz's post you have sent me a PM on this thread and then PM me with a photo of the finished masterpiece. You then have the finished masterpiece to display in your own home. When sending me your PM please let me have the artist's name and age (if under 16) and parents' username.

Good luck - get creative!

I have since discovered that you can photograph an A3 sheet fairly easily so if you want to do a larger one then please do.

Sounds like fun.
Will you post the pics afterwards, so we can all see? It'd be great to see everyones interpretations.

Although the troops only get a day off here for mid-term I'm sure they will want to take part :)

Yes I intend to display the masterpieces - either all or some depending on number of entries etc. I'm really looking forward to seeing the entries and I'm sure everyone will have very different interpretations. :thumbsup2

That must be tough. I think most English schools have a week but I know they are split between this week and next week (DD has next week).

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask either on this thread or by PM and I'll do my best to help.

Just a quickie question, am i allowed to draw a picture fornKyra to colour in and decorate??

We're not complaining though since they get 2 weeks in October :)

is there a reason we can't post the pics on the thread? I'd like to see other peoples work too...?

I just thought it would be easier to send them by PM. As Cyrano has said, I do intend to display them at the end of the competition but not sure how at the moment as it depends on the number of entries I receive. I will also try and post the entries by age group.

mulan1 - PM sent
