So here's the dealio:

My best pal August is celebrating her birthday next month. I am notorious for throwing her the best celebrations ever. Not to brag. ;)

She and I always plan big things to do together, but I always surprise her with my own little touches, especially in the way I present my gifts to her. Well now I'm starting to run out of ideas! :rotfl:

For her birthday, we've already planned to go zip-lining (something she's always wanted to do), and, due to tradition, we'll be having dinner at Chuck E Cheese. :upsidedow

I need help getting together some fun surprises for her. (I hope this isn't considered cheating!) I know they have a kid's birthday package at Chuck E Cheese, but would I be able to set up a little something for a 17 year old if I called? I've never arranged anything through them before...

Then there's the issue of presenting my gifts... We're moving to Los Angeles toward the end of next year, and August COULD NOT be more excited. She loves anything that reminds her of the fact that we're going. I would like to do a little something for her that will relate to LA. We've got a lot of inside jokes of what our apartment will look like, and I've got some old doll house furniture kicking around my closet. I was thinking of maybe somehow creating a mini model of what our "Apartment from Hell" would look like. Would that be a little too goofy? Do you have any better ideas?

Along with that, I was thinking of maybe writing some scavenger hunt notes and hiding them in different parts of the apartment model. The notes would lead her to different parts of her house where one of her gifts would be hidden. Again, any better ideas? Good idea or bad? I just feel like maybe this idea is a stretch...but I'm not sure! It sounded cute at first.

AND ONE LAST QUESTION I SWEAR! I was thinking that one of her gifts could just be a nice gift basket assortment of little funny things. So far I already have a key chain with the Hollywood sign on it and bags of her favorite Candy Corn. But I'm not sure what else to add to the gift basket. Aside from the California thing, she also loves Vampires, sign language, Disney Princesses, kids (her lifelong dream is to have children!), her new car, sentimental stuff, etc. Any ideas on what I could add to the gift basket? Or other gifts in general, even if they're not fitting for a gift basket, I'm open to ideas!

Whew! sorry for the long-winded post, and thanks if you're still tuned in! Start throwin' out ideas! :wizard:
