We are driving from the frigid north in a few weeks. It turns out we have some time to kill on the way down. Anyone have good suggestions for stops between Atlanta and Orlando? It's me, the wife, and two boys 4&9.

Thanks!!

How much time do you need to kill? Atlanta has a bunch of stuff... Coke museum, CNN (they used to give public tours, don't know if they still do), Centennial Park (although it might be chilly).

Besides downtown Atlanta, there is not much between there and Orlando. Good places to stay in Macon, Valdosta and Gainesville, FL. But as far as things to see...not much. It is a pretty but boring drive. Lots of fields....and then palm trees.

If you want to visit a theme park you have Wild Adventures in Valdosta.

If you have just a small amount of time, there is an Air Force Museum at Robins AFB, just south of Macon. Teenagers might be bored, but a 4 and 9 year old would love seeing all the big planes. There is plenty to do inside as well. If you have lots of time, I would spend a day at the beach. You have plenty of options all the way down the coast. It only takes an hour to get to Daytona from Orlando and visiting Daytona Speedway is a fun way to spend some time. :goodvibes

You can also spend an extra day in Atlanta seeing the pandas. There is also an aquarium in Atlanta and one of the top aquariums in the country north of atlanta in Chattanooga,TN
