Full Yesterday? Try Again

Yesterday I was really bummed out cause I couldn't get the discount. It wasn't available because the CR was full for the time I'm going. It had shown online that it was full before the discount started yesterday. My TA tried - no luck. Well I kept looking online yesterday for some crazy reason with no luck. Tried again last night after midnight and lo and behold - it was available! :Pinkbounc
Why??? Cancelled reserv? They added more allotments??

Left voicemail and a fax for my TA to get when she came in this morning. Also gave her info on the AAA code I found out about - ***.

She just called me and got it! :love2: An additional $156 besides the $171 AAA discount = $327 all together for Regular Season. :cheer2: Now I'm happy.

So anyone who wasn't able to get discount yesterday because of resort being booked up, it might be worthwhile to try again.
 
That's awesome! I am on the phone trying this now. Just curious, what resort are you staying at and what dates??

So I am confused....is your AAA agent able to apply the code to your already existing reservation or are you having to make a new one with AAA to get it. Mine is telling me my Resort is booked...WL...and when I check online and called Disney they tell me the same...unless I want to upgrade to CYV which would actually end up costing me $200 more so no thank you? Help
 

Okay........I had no luck! Trying for the Polynesian Nov. 29 - Dec. 3. Tried the code ***. What is code CYV? I haven't tried that one yet. This is so frustrating.....I wish they would go back to the original AP rates over the phone! :confused3
 
supposedly you can apply the code *** to an existing AAA reservation and get a further discount without changing your current ressie or number. I've emailed my AAA agent, and she's checking on this for us. I'll post when I find out.

I think these codes are starting to get to me! I was thinking CYV was just another discount code!!!!! :confused3
 
I really hate all of this....I mean I would be happy if I was able to get more money off but this is like buying a used car! :lol
Triplefigs if it works for you let us know. I am thinking my substitute AAA agent will tell me no...I would love just a few dollars back...oh well.

Well, she called and, yes, that code can be applied on top of an existing reservation. My AAA agent said it is based on availability, and that for our reservation it wasn't available now. She said CRO said to keep trying back to see if anyone had cancelled.

Does anyone know if what my AAA agent said is true? Or should you be able to apply that special code to ANY existing AAA ressie?

Yes to existing reservations. That's what happened to me yesterday - online and my TA checking showed my resort booked. BUT late last night I discovered availability of exactly what I have. For some reason there was now room(s) available that there hadn't been earlier.

So I informed my TA first thing in the morning. She called Disney and got it for me.

So that's why I'm saying to try again later - tonite, tomorrow, etc. Something might come up. I don't know why this happened. Possibly cancellation which then put room (s) back into inventory???

I think that's true.

I'm under the impression and was also told by a TA at DU yesterday that there were probably no discounts alloted in the first place for my time because all the rooms were booked. So I think that if there are rooms available at a resort, there are discounts, which can be used for new reserv or towards an existing reserv. If no rooms available, no discounts for that time. Kinda makes sense. Can't see them having discounts alloted for rooms already booked on the off chance that someone will call and ask for it.

I can't be positive it's true. All I know is that yesterday when I checked online there were no rooms available at my resort for the exact time I had and couldn't get a discount. When I checked last night there was a room available (a cancellation??) and now was able to get the discount. :confused3

I'd say first do what I did, I kept checking on the disney website. Kept putting in a request for the exact resort, days, package I already have. All day yesterday - no success. Then late last nite had success. Then got in touch with my TA.

I'd say keep trying. Might come available later.

I just talked to my agent again and was told the same thing as you Triplefigs. We are staying at the WL....she told me if I wanted to change resorts but at this point I don't think I do. So I will keep my WL reservation and think about it till my real agent gets back next Monday and talk to her.
I figure I have till Oct 26 to pay my full amount for the package so I have then to check for changes....when does the "package" deal expire...guess I should check that.

Yes - I would have your agent keep checking for you. Might be a cancellation.

Now I discovered a room available at CR after midnight. I wonder if cancellations are put into system late in the day/evening?

P.S. I just checked again online and there are no rooms available again at the CR for my time. So looks like I grabbed up a cancellation and just in time!
 
Thanks for posting what your agent said. The new discounts can be booked through Oct 22. My payment in full date is Oct 15, so I've got 2 weeks or so to keep checking. Maybe we'll both luck out. At least my AAA agent said she was willing to keep checking daily for me to apply that code.
