ok so i have the deluxe dining plan and i want to eat at hoop de doo one night but i was reading on a website that it requires full payment or just your credit card when making a reservation why would i have to give them that since i wont be paying that way with my credit card i'll be using my dining plan should i tell them that i have a dining plan when im making the reservation

thanks :thumbsup2

I'm looking at the exact same situation, so I'd like to know the answer too. I'm guessing that they just hold the number to charge against if you don't show, but I don't know for sure. Hopefully someone can answer this for us.

ADR they can access your reservation and see that you have paid for the DDP. At that point they should not charge your card. They should request the number in case you're a no show, but not charge it.

Yes, they hold the credit card for no-shows and won't charge it if you present your resort ID (which has the dining plan credits coded into it).

Definitely mention that you're on the dining plan, though. They should have a way to bypass charging you unless you don't cancel within their "no-show" policy deadline if needed.

California Grill has a credit card hold policy like that. If I didn't cancel (if needed) within 24 hours, they'd still charge me a hefty "no-show" fee.

The princess meals have a credit card advance payment. I'm not sure how they address the dining plan credits.

Certain dining reservations require a credit card to make. I'm also doing the Hoop Dee Doo and am also doing the Deluxe Dining Plan. If you are a no show at your ADR for this reservation (or whichever one requires the card), you will be charged a fee of $25 per person for the cancellation/no-show. I know for a fact that as long as you phone in your cancellation, they won't charge you even if you're within the 24 hour period. One summer we had ADRs for California Grill and that also required the card to make the ressie. We called and cancelled the same day that we were supposed to eat there and it wasn't a problem.

I believe WDW requires this now for some of their more popular restaurants that are signature dining experiences. I wish they would have a credit card required for making reservations at Le Cellier, too.

I cancel all ADRs that I know I'm not going to make, whether they require a card or not. I believe it's just common courtesy to allow somebody else the opportunity to dine.

Thanks!! That pic is from several trips back and my girls have grown up a lot since then, but I can't bring myself to change it. It was the first ride of that trip, which was the first real family trip we did, and it was such a special moment. :goodvibes

Just make sure to check that they use your DxDDP credits.

We had the concierge book the HDDR for us and they charged our CC rather than using our DxDDP - even though we told them to use the DxDDP!:headache:

They fixed it, but thankfully I noticed the error!:goodvibes

I made my usual ADR at MBYBBQ and they took my CC#. They also knew we were on the DP and the CM stated they would not charge our card unless we were no shows. We have done this numerous times in the past and never had our card charged. Well, I got our statement the first of April and they had charged our Card. :scared1: It took me over 2 hours and maybe 5 or 6 different CM's and finally I was told that I would receive a credit. :confused3 I have not received my new statement, I will be checking it.

Make sure you check your CC statement (if you have it before you leave) make sure they have not charged your card!!!!

Also, when you pick up your tickets at your resort on checking in, they will automatically debit your DP credits at that time. It works this way for MBYBBQ so I am presuming it works this was for HDDR.
