Full mattress in a minivan?

Anyone able to fit a full mattress INSIDE a Town and Country minivan diagonally? Without tying it to the roof?

Costco is having a sale and we need a new one. The price is right but we need to transport that sucker ourselves. I don't want to be one of those people in the Costco parking lot who discover it won't fit and have to go right back to return it! Lol.

I imagine the pax seats will have to come out first.

I could try to measure the inside myself but I thought SOMEONE on the disboards MUST have tried to do this before!!! ;)

Thanks!

I have put a queen mattress in my minivan. Seats out.

I didn't need a box spring though. I don't think the box spring would fit.

Btw, I think the full mattress is $202 and the twin is $119. Costco had deals before but including the box spring which we don't need.

Has anyone seen a better deal elsewhere? NOT a hole in the wall store where they could have "recycled" an old mattress. :rolleyes1

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply! Was your queen thin or sagging, I wonder to be able to fit?

The Costco one looked pretty thick and don't think it would be too "bendy" kwim?

Wow, the price is awesome! I checked last month for a full size and it was $269 at Costco. I wonder if I can get that price too? The box spring is an extra 100 bucks.

I think they are taking an instant coupon of $50 off the mattresses w/o the box spring. I think until 8/5? Check this month's coupon book. So maybe the full is $220 but still great price for Costco quality.

The queen wasn't thin, but yes it did have to bend a bit to fit. It was only in the car like that for 20min and no worse for wear.

Good luck!

Also if you are worried, consider ordering it on Costco.com and have it delivered via free shipping.

Queen size a few times in my van & I've done a full size. The full size was easy peasy. drop the seats into the floor & slide it in.

We fit a full size matress and box springs in the back of our 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan, it wasn't the easiest thing, but it wasn't that hard, in fact we have fit a couch back there too. We have the Stow and Go seats, so DH uses it like a pickup.

We just tried this last weekend. Moving my daughter from one college apt. to the next. The full mattress was easy but the box springs wouldn't fit. This was in the town & country minivan.

Thanks for all the replies! I guess we are good to go this weekend picking up the mattress from Costco.

Thanks!

A set of rachet straps is only about $15 at Walmart and will safely hold a mattress and box spring on top strapped to the luggage rack.
