Full-body dryer called Haystacks at IOA?

My Universal Orlando 2011 book says there's a full-body dryer that can fit a family of four outside the Bilge-Raft Ride for $5. I could find no evidence of this anywhere, including Universal's own website. Anyone know? Sounds like a great way to dry off. Heading to IOA in a few days.

Yes, there were some very large dryers outside of the raft ride and I really wish they hadn't been full with lines in Oct!!! I was 98% soaked within 20 seconds of the ride starting.

OP the rafts have huge water proof areas to store your stuff, def suggest storing your shoes! when you get off the ride there's a seating area to regroup

we do water ride last thing before leaving the park as im not a fan of walking around sloshy unless there's adult beverages involved.

I may be wrong about this, but I thought there were also some by the Ripsaw Falls ride. (same area though just basically right across from each other, barges, Rsaw Falls).

There was one right by the lockers near Rip Saw, can't remember the location exactly of the others.
We put our sweatshirts and jackets in the lockers but my shoes, socks and pant legs got SOAKED.
We didn't even try the Bilge Rat Barges, which only had maybe one out of ten with riders on them. It was a around 40 degrees and I think it would've cost $25 to dry my shoes so I just squelched and splashed water out of them as I walked around. Didn't help the terrible blisters I had.

However, the family that was in one drying off didn't look like they were getting terribly dry. Some resorted to hanging jackets etc on the bridge from JP to WWOHP!

We did our waterrides in the rain, LOL. Just made it more simple!

But I think I'll budget the money for DS to dry off, he really wanted to go in there (we didn't see families, but groups of teens wearing shorts and tees on that cold rainy day, in the dry-off machines).

Don't expect to come out of those machines much drier. Even if you put your soaking wet clothing in your dryer at home, 5 minutes won't do much.

Had a friend try in in January after he foolishly insisted he could ride Popeye in 60-degree weather (we grew up in CT, he still lives there, he thought it was "warm" out). Honestly, it didn't do much. A few fans blowing hot air and heat lamps along the top.

Just a warning: I think "water proof" is a bit of an overstatement. Those compartments are better than nothing, but I wouldn't count on anything in them to stay dry. It's safer to wrap stuff in a plastic bag or poncho before you store it.

In chilly weather, would it be wise to wear a poncho on the wet rides? I don't want to look like a wimp, but I don't do well with cold and wet. But I LOVE the raft and water rides. Such a conundrum!

We wear ponchos whenever we don't want to get soaking through and through. (didn't do much good on the Popeye raft ride, though!) I'm just not a fan of the wet t-shirt look on myself right now, and don't feel the need to share my bra with others, so ponchos are good.

We actually bought really nice ones from RickSteves.com travel store, they packed back into their own pocket, are roomy, and not just plastic.

I tried them last Oct.- a complete waste of money. Thankfully it was a warm day!
Put your stuff and shoes/socks in a ziplock!

Those dryers don't work but the new ones in the bathroom are great! LOL
