Today was supposed to be another relaxing day by the pool, but it turned out to be quite exciting for a little while. We also had some COOL Disney Magic today, but more about that later.

It was again another resort day we had scheduled – sleep in, relax by the pool, and just generally vegetate. Gael did some more laundry today (on vacation?), but it was a smart choice as she didn’t have quite as much to do when we got home and we were in the room for those times anyway. Maybe next time I can convince her to take fewer clothes and rewear some of them during the trip. We’ll see next trip.

Off to the Lodge beach we went – Brittany’s favorite. We spent some time there, with Brittany being brave and going near some birds (which would have driven Grandma crazy!) and digging big holes and filling them with water and herself. We decided to run up to the main pool and eat lunch and swim some more. We ate lunch and just after lunch joined in one of the kid’s events: A Rubber Ducky race. Brittany’s duck came close to winning, but got stuck on the rocks just before the finish. Bummer.

We swam around some more, with Brittany walking around in the 3-foot section. She was able to keep her head above the water but didn’t want to leave the safety of the wall, so we spent a deal of time there. We also went up and splashed around in the huge current coming from the lodge stream. Mommy had a good time soaking in the sun and dipping her toes in the water. It was still just a little cool for mommy, but she did go in for a while.

Remember on the 1st when I talked about Disney World Swimming Lesson Number 1? We had a repeat of the potty problem just as we finished swimming and were headed back to the room to get ready to go to MGM for Fantasmic! While Brittany laid on the bed resting like we had her do before, mommy and daddy took turns taking showers and getting ready to head out, possibly to the clinic. While in the shower, I thought of sand being in sensitive places (I dunno why, it just occurred to me she was sitting in the sand and who knows…) When I talked to Mommy after my shower, she went and checked Brittany and sure enough, she had sand in her privates which was causing the discomfort. Mommy cleaned her all up and everything was ok then. Here ends Disney Swimming Lesson #1.

So we pile in the van and headed over to MGM. The cast members told us to park at the end of one of the rows (but weren’t really directing people directly there), so I took a chance and drove up through the parking lot and ended up 2 rows back from the bus parking which made it a straight walk into the park. We had never been to that front section of the entrance before – where the busses and boat launch empty out so we hung around for a little and took some pictures. Into the park we went and walk around a little looking for characters. Seeing no one we checked our guide and it told us no characters after 5. Bummer. We realized this while on Mickey Boulevard and happened to end up right in front of the Millionaire game, which was queuing up for the next show. We asked the CM if we would watch the show if we would make it in time for Fantasmic. She said no (and we ignored her) and went in to watch the show. It was a cool attraction, and neither Gael nor I did very well getting high points to get into the hot seat. Oh well, next time.

After Millionaire, we headed right over to Fantasmic to the Cast Members on the street telling everyone it was standing room only. We walked up to the theater, and saw huge masses of people still waiting to get in. We waited for a bit and thought about giving up and jumping to Epcot to see Illuminations, but Brittany told us to stay. This turned out to be a VERY good choice later. We waited in the huge mass of humanity and were slowly herded into the theater to take a standing position on the ‘cement’ landings in the back of the theater. We got a front row standing spot, and hunkered down to stand for the show. Minutes later, a Cast Member randomly walked by and stopped and asked us how many in the party? We told him 3 and he said follow me. We followed him to the middle of the theater, down to the middle rows. Turns out someone left, and he had the job to fill the spot and it was us he chose! We were so excited, I had someone take a picture of the Cast Member and I just before we left. Although we were right in line with one of the poles, we still had a great view, and got to sit for the show. Disney Magic had struck!

After the show, a tired but happy Fulcer family herded its way out of the park and went back to the room. Yet another day that although there were some rocky points, turned out to be pretty cool in the end. We were disappointed that this was the last night of our vacation, but extremely pleased, as this had been a very relaxing time.
