Hi,
This news article is quite disturbing for anyone who uses the pay at the pump system when filling up with "gas" in Florida.

Thanks for posting this :) We're heading out in a couple of weeks, so this is a timely warning for us.

So, how should we pay safely? Can you use your cc at the desk, or is cash a better alternative? What do others do?

hi mick,
This is a big worry as we always use our cards at the pumps while on holiday, we may have to rethink this for our security.

Sounds like the devices used in ATMs. I thought the 'pin and chip' cards (which are the norm in the US) were supposed to prevent this kind of fraud.

Don't forget that if your card is used fraudulently, you're only liable for the first £50. I think you're responsible for notifying them of any fraudulent transactions within about 2 months of receipt of a statement. Paying credit card companies for insurance against loss or theft is throwing money away.

This is alarming, Dp has never used his credit card yet for paying for fuel, and I think this has put him off
