I thought DH was joking - there is a problem with Manchester airport not having enough fuel! It affects some flights tonight and tomorrow morning - we are on the Virgin flight to MCO tomorrow morning from Manchester - cant believe this - we have the cat in the vet's while we are away and now this.

Please tell me that this is unlikely to affect the Virgin flight and relates more to short haul.

Yes I just saw that on the BBC website that they might run out by 18.00 today, but its not on the BBC News so maybe they have it sorted now.

They say contact your airline as most will have restocked before landing, said they will know more after 6pm tonight,so should be some news now.they will get there fuel resolved before midnight i heard but will be 6 am before they can use it.say only a handful of flights affected and up to individual airlines to what they do.hope all going will be ok

Today airline fuel supply companies operating at Manchester Airport experienced an interruption to their supply of aviation fuel from the Essar refinery.

The refinery has confirmed that fuel supply stocks to Manchester Airport are now being replenished and will be restored by tomorrow morning (Thursday 7th June).

Disruption has been kept at a minimum and so far no flights have been cancelled or diverted.

We would still advise passengers travelling this evening to check their flight status with the airline before coming to the airport.

Thanks guys

Keeping a close eye on the situation here - our flight leaves at 11am tomorrow - quite anxious as lost a day of our holiday a couple of years ago when our flight to LAX had to turn back due to 'technical difficulties' - we had to stay overnight in a hotel near Heathrow and fly out a day late.
