We are considering changing our reservation from AOA Nemo Suite to Ft. Wilderness Cabins in August. We have two children (5/2) traveling with us and this is their first trip. We will be doing mostly MK so we think it's best to stay closer and limit the long bus rides where possible. With Trails End closed, how is the quick service impacted? Are we going to be looking at long lines, less choices, etc? We really do not want to do a lot of meal prep ourselves. We were thinking breakfast in our cabin but we won't cook for lunch/dinner.

Also, we will have to do a golf cart rental. There are 3 adults plus the 2 children and there will be a stroller. How are people handling this with a 4 person golf cart? Is it doable?

Please also add any tips, suggestions, etc. to keep these two overactive boys busy at the resort. We like the idea of the separate bedroom for nap time, etc. and the possibility of having our own breakfast in our rooms. We also like there is some limited room to run about with supervision outside. Is the sing-a-long and campfire still running with Covid? Thanks in advance for any insight.

You might want to ask on the Camping Forum. Those folks are quite knowledgeable about everything at the campground.

Trail's End is not currently open but P&J's take-out is available. I believe all restaurants throughout WDW are still working with somewhat limited menus. How long the temporary closure or limited menus last is anyone's guess, though I believe WDW is hoping to get things back to "normal" by fall. The sing-along and campfire are not currently offered, but there is an outdoor movie shown.

I'd assume you can hold the 2-yr-old on someone's lap, but I have heard the CMs can sometimes be strict about occupancy so I don't know how old a child can continue to ride on a lap. I don't believe there's really room for the stroller. You may be better off walking or using the internal bus when you need to have the stroller.

One thing I will add is they do have 6 person golf carts. They're a very limited number and you cannot reserve one, but when you check in you can request one. If it is available then it's yours for the duration of the rental.

As a family of 5 we would always put 2 adults in the front, the two largest kids in the back. Little guy was on moms lap in the front and if we had a stroller fold it up and wedge it between the two in the back. Never in over 25 stays at the cabins has a cast member stopped us or questioned it. Front to back of the campground is no more than a 10 minute cart ride so its not that uncomfortable for the short time.
