Are there any discounts for the campground, Ft. Wilderness?
Trying to price vacation for September.

PLEASE ADVISE!

How do you get the best rate?

Thanks for all the help!

AAA is about it..Sometimes Fla resident and Annual passholder, but AAA is usually the same or better..We always book direct thru Disney..

Hi there,
I had an odd experience as I just booked a ressie for my family last week.

I called in asking for 2 nights 9/3-9/5/11. The CM told me that there was not a campsite available for those two days, yes, I know it's Labor Day Weekend! But he did say that there was a site available for 9/1-9/5/11.

I'm confused, 9/3-9/5 is the end of 9/1-9/5 so how can you have a spot that is available from 9/1-9/5 and not have that same spot open 9/3-9/5????

The CM explained that it is because of how FW blocks off it's sites and dates.

SO, he had me book the 9/1-9/5 and then call in the next day and ask to "modify down" my reservation to 9/3-9/5.

IT WORKED!
So, now my mom and dad have the Prefered Spot, Pet Loop (Loop #300) that they were originally hoping for. $66 for one night and $69 for the other night.

I've not had any luck finding discounts - we're going in October. Any who I do use resources like Disboards and and themouseforless.com.

Try to check the first part of the month as that is when discounts are usually posted. I would think (if any are available for Sept.) they would already be published.

Good Luck. :thumbsup2

There is a small room only discount. It only saves you about $7 a night, but hey, 7 dollars is 7 dollars, right? It's for dates from August 14th- October 1st. Hope this helps.

Any chance you qualify for a military discount? There are some available....just not sure if they are available for your particular dates.

Not so far. We booked our trip through Ticket and Tours on base....no discounts were available. I keep watching the boards to see if anything pops up. We're Florida residents, military, and passholders, but we haven't found anything (like we're looking for) for Oct. yet. :confused3

Good Luck.:thumbsup2

We usually book through Sandy at distrips.net. They specialize in Disney hookups of all types and work tirelessly to get your reservations.

There are no military discounts for FW. But the FW rack rate is cheaper than the All Stars with the military discount. I found this out when I made our reservations.

To the OP,

Some discounts are wide open to any and all like Free Dining (applies only to the Fort cabins when/if offered).

Others are limited in number like AAA, AP, and any other non-Disney types. Once all those discounts are claimed/used up, there are no more for subsequent guests unless a guest with a discount cancels.

So the early bird gets the worm here. You may have limited success getting any non-Disney discount for this September since it will be so quickly upon us. Now, if you were talking about September 2012, you would have better luck. :rolleyes1 But be persistent and keep calling. You never know what will turn up.

PS - please don't expect a bevy of replies in 50 minutes as you did in post #2. We are happy to help but given the hectic aspects of our lives I think a minimum of 24 hours would be a more reasonable expectation.

I just book online at the Disney website and then check every week for discounts. When a discount comes out I call and ask them to apply the discount to my res.

Are you trying to get a discount for 2011 or 2012? And are you looking at campsites or cabins? It's really a little late to be trying to get a discount for Sept 2011 for a campsite - most people book months in advance to get the discount - unfortunately, once they're gone, they're gone.

I have booked thru AAA, the disney website and also called.

From what I have seen, FW CG discounts are pretty much non existant. You might get 5-10% with AAA depending on when you stay. But since the CG is at 60+% all year, there is no motivation for Disney to offer discounts like they do at any other resorts when too many rooms go empty.

if you are an airline employee you get a big discount. I booked for 9 nights it was going to be 999 but got it for 600 with my discount.40 percent off yahoo
