Ft. Wilderness Campfire Program for off-site guests?

I am interested in taking my family to the campfire program at Fort Wilderness campground. (The event held each evening where guests can roast marshmallows, participate in the sing-slong, visit with Chip & Dale and then watch a Disney movie under the stars..) However, we will not be staying at a Disney resort for our upcoming trip in early November. Anyone know if we can still attend the campfire program? Do they check to see if you're a resort guest?

The campfire program is for Disney resort guests only. I don't know how diligent they are about checking resort IDs though. From reading trip reports it seems to depend (As usual) on the CM, but more have them checked than not. Also the way that Fort Wilderness is set up I don't know that I would bother with it for the movie -HDD and the backyard BBQ yeah, but not the movie. As an offsite guest you have to park in the outside parking lot then hop an internal bus to the Meadows area where the movie is being shown. Then reverse after the movie.

The marshmallows etc are available at a cost, I think it was $2 or something.

It's like someone asking if it's OK to use the pool at Boardwalk or Beach Club, even though he is staying at the Holiday Inn. . .

If one has to ask if it's OK, the answer is most likely no.

I was told by CM's this was open to all.
I would check with Disney Recreation.

It's open to all Disney Resort Guests. It is not open to offsite guests.

It is open--very open. They do not check id's and they way it is set up they could not check id's. I've also heard that it is open to ALL. I've never seen all the seating taken and think if you want to come try it out then come on over. Just be careful, though, because more that one person has caught the Fort Wilderness bug from a trip there for the campfire and they are still coming back--now in the cabins or with rv's!

OMG, some of you people are so frickin rude!!! Is that really neccessary, the man/woman is just asking a simple question.

As per the OP, that last time we went to the campfire was in 2004 and it was open to EVERYONE. We were staying offsite and walked right in...not really in, since it is wide open...but no one asked us for any id's.

Actually, I just got off the phone with a very nice CM and she stated it is open to everyone...offsite or on.

Some of you seem to be making things up.

Anyway, we stayed within a short walk of the campfire program and walked over there several times during our trip. Anyone is welcome, there is no ID checking.

To get there if you have a car, park in the lot at the Outpost that I think says Hoop De Doo parking. There is a bus stop there. Tell the driver you are going to the campfire/movie and they will help you out with which bus to take.

The movie list does not come out until the first of the month. You can call fort wilderness to get it, or check here on the DIS camping board, where a nice person usually posts it.

You can't see the electric water pagent from the campfire area, but you can see it from the beach in the Settlement area.

The time for the campfire & movie varies with the season.
