Hi,
We are staying at the Ft. Wilderness Cabins for the first time and would like some suggestions on the best loop to stay with young children (to beat all the walking). We'd like to be as close as possible to the Marina....but also the pool and campfire area. I can't tell from the map which is better and thought someone who has been there could help me. We are not sure we can afford the carts....at the $50/day. Please help us if you've stayed in the cabins. Also, looks like people may be dissappointed in condition of cabins...any ones newer than others??? Thanks.
PS - we are going next week- June 13 - 21 -- any issues with bugs? also, crowds this time of year??? Thank you!

If you are looking for a small loop... we love loop 2300... but we also love loop 2500 near the small pool. It's also a smaller loop.

You do not need a golf cart- per say. You can take the bus to the campfire/main pool. We enjoy the pool in the 2500 loop. I do laundry and swim.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. We've been to the cabins 3 times in the last 2 years. The first time in 2200 which we found perfect. The second time in 2300 which we hated. The trees and the vegetation in 2300 was sparse. In 2200 you feel like you are in the woods. Thick trees and shrubs, etc. The last time they put us in 2500, we drove over and it is "lightly wooded" like 2300. I went right back to check in and they moved us to 2800 and we loved it. Thick with trees and such. But we did need the golf carts as we were in the back of the loop for 10 days. Sigh.... I miss it.

We were in the cabins last month and we got loop 2100, Bobcat Bend. It seemed in the middle so i requested it. Not a bad walk to the Meadows pool and the campfire program at all. We had a comfort station right behind us, laundry was easy, and short walk to bus stop. We didn't rent a cart either. The internal buses were running all the time, never waited more than 5 minutes, usually less.

Our cabin was in great condition, sure could have used some sprucing up but same with our room at the Beach Club where we stayed after. We loved the cabin and FW. Very nice people there.

You'll love the cabins.

Just remember if people sleep in later than yourself, bring a hairdryer. The hairdryer is in the bedroom not the bathroom. It's excellent by the way as far as hairdryers at disney resorts go.

You may also want to ask for a cabin at the beginning or end of the loop. Some of those loops are pretty big and if you get one in the middle, that may be a lot of walking for the kids.

Ditto on that! We always ask to be near the front of the loop and usually they are very good about it. 2600 is near the cabin pool and the bus stop so short walk to both. Some of the 2500 cabins back right up to the pool/ Personally my favorite loop is 2200.......sigh.........

That is what I was going to say. We always ask for the front or end of a loop.

We stayed in the 2100 loop a couple of years ago. It was great. The bus stop was right across the street(we were at the beginning of the loop) and it was a short walk to the store, which is where you have to go to pick up purchases that you have sent over from the parks. We are going again in October and I am going to request the same loop.

I have rented the golf cart on both of my trips, so I can't really comment on which Loop is better without one butttt........I love the cabins. They are a little dark as far as lighting but other than that they are great. I went with my 3 year old last Jan. It was perfect. We hit the parks in the morning, napped in the afternoon and enjoyed the resort afterwards. My sons routine never was broken. I don't expect to stay anywhere else until he gets older and is able to hit the parks all day.
