I've read that if you stay at the Ft wilderness cabins you do not " qualify" for the free DDP ( in september) promotion. Can anyone tell me if this is true? Thanks.:)

I believe the cabins qualify, but the camp sites (where you bring your own tent/RV) do not.

I just got off the phone with DDP reps because we're staying five nights at the Lodge during the time they're running the free DDP promotion. However, I was told that 1) I could not take advantage b/c I booked thru AAA, and 2) I would have had to book my trip for Sept before June 24th in order to qualify. :sad1:

That's correct, in part. It's 100% correct that the booking period for free dining ended June 24 - but if a similar situation arises in the future, while you can't book the free dining through Disney reservations if you book the trip through AAA, you can add free dining (or any other applicable promotion) via your AAA Travel Agent. On the other hand, you would lose any AAA room rate discount.

Thanks! That's great to know. I'm pretty certain that AAA does not get a room discount for the Deluxe Suites (Club Level) rooms anyway, and I did book the trip before June 24th, so I'm going to call my AAA rep today! :yay:

I don't think that there is anything your AAA rep can do. You had to book the Free Dining BEFORE June 24th. Just because you booked your room before then doesn't mean that know you qualify for free dining.

It turned out that I did book my trip June 22nd, but the discount that AAA got for me was greater than the benefit of free DDP. I could not have both, so I stuck with the discount on the room. Plus, with the concierge room we get a lounge with free snacks, bottled water, fruit and stuff, which for little kids can easily become a breakfast or lunch -on-the-go. I'm planning to get my money's worth out of the Club Lounge!
