I live in Estero, between Fort Myers and Naples.
You have good advice , but some of it is a little incorrect.
First of all, where are you staying in Fort Myers, it makes a difference.
Barefoot Beach is a great Beach, it is in Collier County, but you access it off of Bonita Beach Road. It costs about 5 or 6 dollars to get in.
Lovers Key is very nice, with a $5 entry fee. Both will be crowded in March.
Ding Darling is on Sanibel Island and the Nature Conservancy is in Naples. both are great.
Imaginarium, Calusa Nature Center and Planatarium, Edison Home and Museum, Six Mile Cypress Slough, Manatee Park (although in March the manatees will be out to sea). there are bogo's in the Entertainment book for some of these places.
It is very hard to find parking at the beaches in March. We go to the Bonita Beaches or Vanderbilt Beach in Naples.
I can answer most questions about the area if you need to know anything specific.
We also take rides down to the Everglades.
