I am thinking about adding these to my list of what I am interested in doing. I have read the job descriptions but I would like to know more. I was wondering if anybody has had any experiece in either of these. Any information would be great! Thanks!:)

Full Service you would be working most likely as a hostess at one of the restaurants. When people ask me, I tell them this should be their number one choice. Its one of the least physically demanding roles and you are always inside at a hostess stand in the a/c. Very few other roles can guarantee that. And if you are working in Florida... a/c is a godsend.

Its also one of the toughest to get into.

I was accepted into FSFB for Fall 09. It's a pretty straightforward role. Hosting (not serving) in a full service restaurant either in a park or a resort. Seating tables, dealing with guests, handling rezzos, managing floor charts. Just like in any other restaurant. I'll be keeping a blog once I get started.

As for photopass..I hear it's a pretty selective role, even those with experience with photography have not been selected. I'm not sure what they look for when picking people. As far as I know the role is taking and processing pictures for guests. Either randomly in the parks, or stationed with characters for guests who want pictures. Someone with more knowledge of the role could help.

I agree with the point of the lack of physical demands. Granted you are on your feet all day but that is certainly doable as noted, inside with a/c. But it's extremely mentally demanding. Restaurants run soley by the hosts doing. If hosts are off it sets the tone for the whole shift (speaking with 3 yrs of host experience). You need to be on your A game, and you are ALWAYS in the eye of guests and their needs!

^So basically, don't do FS/FB if you're ADD like me eh? :rotfl2: Although I dare say, I didn't realize that it didn't involve taking orders/delivering food etc... all of a sudden the role sounds that much more appealing to me haha...

Thanks for the information! I think I will be putting fsfb down...never been a hostess before but it sounds like it would be a fun experiece! Still not sure about photopass though...

Not serving. CPs usually are not servers for FSFB (just host/hostesses).

I agree with you there. When I became an assigner, I was tired (and pretty tired physically, moving tables and chairs around, as well as bussing). If you get a busy restaurant, the work flow is pretty constant. I used to have dreams about assigning people to tables--it got really bad at a point!

If the seaters aren't "on" during the shift, the whole pace slows down. I learned a lot from my experience. PM me if you have anymore questions about FSFB!
