Okay so I haven't been reporting in on the "wish" boards for a while now. mostly because of this frustration I feel for not losing any weight, and stuggling just to maintain this weight. But after much searching I discovered that most of my calories that I consume or mainly carbs. I have followed a low fat, low calorei diet and the scale just won't budge so I am thinking it might be a carb thing causing me to stall, so I need advice from anyone who follows a low carb diet on what is the percentage of your daily diet comes from carbs. Also has anyone folowwed low carb eating and WW? Sorry so long but I am getting very disappointed with myself and this failure to lose weight. Thanks to anyone who can help me.

My percentages are like this:

60% fat
30% protein
10% carbs

It sounds like you would be a great candidate for a low-carb diet! I tried all kinds of low-fat and fat-free diets, counting my calories, etc, etc. and I kept gaining weight, and I was never happy because I was always hungry!

Then I found Atkins, and it's been a life-saver! I'm never hungry, I have tons of energy, I sleep better at night, my cholesterol is down, my blood pressure is down, and I'm happy! It's been much easier than I thought it would be to give up breads and pastas! And, there are some great low-carb products out there now too that help!

Julie is right. Dr. Atkins advises against trying it, because the two just don't mesh together. I've tried it myself, and failed miserably. It's one or the other. :)

I follow the WW plan and try to keep my carbs low as well. Not as low as Atkins or South Beach Diet though. I notice that I start slowing down in my weight loss when I get 'carb creep'.

If you don't want to give up WW, try increasing the proteins you eat, and cut those carbs. Check out this link for a chart on how to balance your WW diet ---> http://groups.msn.com/WWBuddies2003/eatingyourrightmix.msnw Otherwise, give low carbing a try. There is a plan for everyone, you just have to find the one that fits you. :)

If you switch to low carb, try to keep your carbs around 20 grams per day but no more than 30. Get yourself one of those books that list grams of carbs in all kinds of foods (I got mine at the checkout counter of my supermarket).

I'm on a modified Atkins. It's something that's working and that I can do long term.

Hey now! :)

Just wanted to say hang in there! Maybe SBD or Atkins would be a good plan for you to follow. Don't get too hard on yourself.

I'm sending loads of PD ~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~* your way for the perfect weight loss lifestyle to fall into your lap. Good luck and never give up! :)

First and foremost, DON'T GIVE UP!!! Keep trying things until you find something that works for YOU!! ::yes::

That said, I was recently diagnosed diabetic and when I was in the hospital (was in for blood clots in my lungs and that's when they discovered I was diabetic) the dietician talked to me and set a calorie limit of 1800 per day, with 15-17 carbs (15grams = 1 carb) per day and I am definitely losing weight with that. I had lost 8 since my thyroid surgery in May, and now another 12 in the month since I've been home from the hospital. Usually I only have 1200 - 1500 calories per day, and maybe 10 - 12 carbs. I am also walking, walking, walking and really enjoying it! I'm super excited about losing weight and getting healthy again. These 20 pounds off have really gotten me motivated. I've been overweight for 27 years and if I can do it, you can too!!! GOOD LUCK with whatever plan you decide to try.
