We just made Disney reservations and will be at the parks on March 5, 6 and 7. We will drive home on March 8. We will ahve DH and myself as well as DD (7) and DS (7 months). I purchased the DDP. We plan to be in MK on Saturday, AK on Sunday and Either MK again Monday...or Epcot. We will leave Monday up to our DD. I need help with ADR's. We will be up early thanks to DS...not huge breakfast eaters but will do what we ahve to :)

I would love suggestions!

Are you staying on property? If so which resort?

The reason I am asking is because many of the resort restaurants are better than the theme park restaurants...At least in my opinion. :)

Yes, we are staying at CSR.

We do not have PH passes.

Does anyone know...do I need reservations for 3 or 4 since one is 7 months?

It has been 17 years since Disney for me...I am clueless :)

All people must be on the reservation, so you would book for 4. This is due to two things. One is overall occupancy of the restaurant. Two is the fact that there would still have to be room for the 7 month old.

I would log onto the Disney website and look to see what is available for the parks where you will be. Also remember to look at restaurants at nearby resorts. The monorail resorts can be a great option on your MK day for example.

We were there in August with a 3-month old. I always said 2 + an infant. If you don't go often, you are crazy not to go to Epcot (but Illuminations is loud and will scare your 7-mo. old), as long as you DD gets to do everything she wanted your first day in MK. Mexico is one of our favorite places to eat. Such a fun atmosphere and great food. There's also a new fun pizza joint in Italy that I've never been too before but looks kid-friendly.

I would book at least one character meal. We had lunch at Crystal Palace (CP) with Pooh and friends and it was fun. The pictures we took with the characters turned out to be some of my favorites from the trip.

The food and service were good too:goodvibes

R U on dining plan? Availabillity may be limited, so shop around on website.

Animal Kingdom, Tusker House has a great character buffet for breakfast and a lunch buffet as well.

Magic Kingdom Crystal Palace is a very nice buffet, breakfast, lunch and dinner or any of the resorts in the area have great dining options. Ohana's and Kona @ Poly. Grand floridan has agreat buffet and non buffet choice.
Contemporary resort, Chef Mickeys etc.

Epcot has alot of wonderful dining options. Our fav's are Tutto,Biergarten,Lecellier.

Since you have a vehicle you can go to any resorts for dining.
Beach Club has Clambake
Animal Kingdom has Boma and Sanaa

Coronado has the pepper market which is a counterservice and is great if you are on the dining plan, because out of pocket it is expensive.

For your quick service meals I would def. try the Pepper Market at CSR. The food is great for quick service...the set up can be a little confusing at first though so go when you are not in huge hurry.

Another quick service favorite of ours is the food court at the Land Pavilion in Epcot. SUPER Good!

As far as your Table Service meals... I would recommend.

Cape May @ The Beach Club Resort-
maybe on your Epcot Day.Minnie, Goofy, and Donald are there for breakfast. Dinner there is no characters but the food is outstanding. We love eating both breakfast and dinner there. And it is located right outside Epcot's World Showcase.

Chef Mickey's @ The Contemporary- the food is good not great...but the environment makes it worth while. i really think your children would enjoy eating there.

Teppen Edo @ Epcot may be fun. Most kids like to watch the chefs prepare the food at your table. The food is good...typical Japanese style Hibachi.

Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show @ The Polynesian Resort- we thought the food was good and the show was cute.

These are just some ideas...I was trying to think of more kid friendly restaurants as far as keeping the kids entertained. :goodvibes

With kids I have found the buffets offer a better selection for the kids.

For MK I would definitely do the Crystal Palace. We and our kids love it (Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, etc.) Good buffet as well.

AK -- Tusker house breakfast -- Donald and others -- is good.

Contemporary -- Chef Mickey's (always our first meal)

GF -- has 1900 Park Fare that has Mary Poppins, Alice, Mad Hatter for lunch, and Cinderella and others for dinner.

DHS -- I would do Hollywood and VIne -- good buffet--Disney Playhouse characters (little einsteins)

If DD wants a princess experience, Cinderella's Royal table is supposed to be good, but costs extra dining points. You could try Auskerhaus in EPCOT (Norway) for breakfast.

A plus for many of the breakfast ADR's is that they can start before the park opens, so you get in early. Kind of neat walking around (at least as far as the restaurant) without that many people.

thanks for all of the suggestions! Keep them coming. I ahve made a few reservations but made them just to have a place to eat. What are the chances of going somewhere without ADR's? I was only able to find two CDE the entire time that we would be there that was available. One was going to cost extra...akershus at Epcot...is it worth it? Lunch or dinner?

??? The character meal at Askerhus - B, L, or D - is just 1 TS credit on the DDP.

Yes, you probably need ADRs; I'm not sure there is much of any time of year now that you don't. That said, there are constantly cancellations. If you discover you particularly want one restaurant, check the webside EVERY SINGLE DAY to see if it has opened up.

With the DDP, your DD5 MUST order from the kid's menu at all TS (and CS) restaurants. Check out those menus as well as the regular adult menus before you make any decisions. Many people find that with kids it's better to eat at a buffet because there the kids can choose from all available items, although all buffets have chicken nuggets & mac-n-cheese as an option too.

Since you are not big breakfast eaters I would eat in the room; either bring stuff with you or use snack credits for pastries. At CSR I believe the rooms all come with a small fridge so you can keep things fresh. Save your TS credits for dinner or large late lunches, depending on what would work best for your family's eating/sleeping habits.

On your MK day I'd recommend a CS lunch in the park and a TS dinner either at CP in the park or at 1900 PF in the GF. CP is a Pooh-themed character buffet with a pretty good food reputation. 1900 PF is an easy monorail ride away (DD will enjoy that) with Cinderella, her Prince, and the evil Steps. Good character interaction and only 1 TS credit.

On the AK day I'd recommend Tusker House for dinner IF the menu appeals to you and IF you are sure you are going to stay in the park that long. Otherwise, actually, I'd recommend you have lunch at a CS place in AK but schedule a TS dinner at a resort. 'Ohana at the Poly is fun because they bring the food to you on skewers, there are activities for the kids, and you can always go down to the beach afterwards and watch the Electric Water Pageant and/or see a lot of the fireworks at the MK again, without going back into the park. The alternative would be to schedule a fairly early dinner ADR at Boma. Note that you will have to take a bus or drive from AK to AKL, then do a bus transfer after dinner to get back to your own resort. But the food is very good, and taking the time to explore the AKL really enhances the day's animal theme.

Plan on Epcot for Monday with the draw being that ADR at Askerhus, either for lunch or dinner. All the princesses a little girl's heart could desire. There's quite a lot that the whole family can enjoy at Epcot, and wonderful CS and snack options (mmmm.....pastries from France......pastries from Norway.......big pretzels from Germany........baklava from Morocco.......). If the menu at Askerhus does not appeal, then eat at the Biergarten in Germany. This is a non-character buffet with lots of good food options, and is one of the few places that I would say you can frequently get into without ADRs due to its large size.

Again, all these ADRs are only 1 TS credit. And welcome back to WDW!

Mickeymark - which restaurant in Mexico? I want to eat there but hubby and kids are making a fuss.

If you have trouble making ADRs (and you will). Just go to your concierge after you check in, and tell them what you want, and when. You'll be amazed how well this works.
I'd Recommend Tusker House for AK, Crystal Palace for MK, and if you go to Epcot, be sure to get Akers Hause (especially if your daughter likes the princesses).
