Okay, so I have been doing fairly well since I have started WW. My most favorite thing about getting smaller is how much I LOVE to exercise. Okay, so here is the frustrating part. I started getting pain in my right leg about 2 months ago or so, brush it off for as long as I could, until my mom and sis forced me to go to the doc to get it checked out (in 1987 when I was in 7th grade, I had a bengin tumor that wrap itself around nerves in my lower back and basically made my leg feel "dead" so they were both worried about recurrence). Doc said it was just my sciatic nerve, I could still exercise, with the old addage, if it hurts, don't do it! Went in again this past Monday, since the pain was not going away, and I had also developed a large lump on my right thigh. Xrays were done, and the doctor said she really didn't know what was going on, the Xray did not look normal, but she wasn't sure what it was. Called me yesterday, now I have to go in for an MRI sometime this week. Exercise had not been bothering me before, but I tried last night, and I was in pain (thank God the doc had prescribed Vicoden, before getting it, I had not slept more than 4 hours a night without being awakened 2 - 3 times a night in pain). I miss my exercise, and I don't want my success to slow down and derail. Sorry to complain, it's just that kind of a day today:(

((HUGS)),

Don't worry about the exercise right now. The first thing you need to do is find out what is wrong and get it taken care of. If it hurts, it's not worth it.

You can definately still loose weight without exercise. I haven't really done much in the way of exercising this time around on WW's and I have lost almost 20 pounds. I am not sure if your how your body will re-act to your not exercising all of the sudden, but I think that it should ajust itself after a week or two. I think you should definately still loose weight even without the exercise as long as you stay within your points.

I hope they find out what is wrong, and that everything is ok. Keep your chin up. I know you want to exercise and you really enjoy it, but you really need to find out what is wrong before you hurt yourself even more.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Oh, BabyTigger, I am so sorry. Since I don't have a love or deep affection for exercise ;) I don't quite know how you feel about that, but I do know that you will get right back to it when you are able and that's great!! Listen to your body and take a break right now. Allow your body some healing time and I am sure the doctors will take care of you. :) If you have to do something, can you lift small handweight for some arm toning? Get those arms all buff!

Keep following the points system and drinking your water. Your weight loss might slow but it won't stop. Tare care of yourself and keep us posted! {{Hugs}}

BabyTigger,

What kind of exercise(s) are you doing now?

I was also going to suggest working on your arms, but in addition to that, would swimming be an option? I know quite a few people that had some sort of leg pain or ailment that were fine in a pool, and it was also therapeutic in some cases (of course, check with your doc first!).

Also, maybe some stretching-type exercises, or maybe some yoga or pilates that wouldn't overtax your leg?

Please keep us updated!

I was also going to suggest doing something with your upper body -- lifting weights, stretching, that kind of thing. That way you could do something at least. But again, if it hurts, don't do it!

Keep us posted?

Take care of your health first! If you are feeling up to exercise, I would suggest swimming, as well. It's a great workout and you don't have to put too much stress on your legs.:D

I hope your leg is feeling better soon and you get a clean bill of health from the doctor.:D

Oh dear, I am so sorry to hear about this mysterious thing that you are going through!

Right now just make your focus on getting better. Don't feel bad about not being able to exercise, it is MUCH more important for you to be pain free. Keep making healthy food choices and drinking your water. As a matter of fact, try doing something to relax. If you can find some of that "new age" type of music (just like sounds of the ocean or something) buy a CD and get yourself into a cozy area of the house and put that on and try to relax! Burn some yummy smelling candles, read an uplifting book, take a bubble bath.

Don't put any stress on your body, take good care of yourself and know that you are in GREAT hands! I'm sure that the MRI will show the dr. what is going on and that there will be a simple and easy solution to things. You have the desire to exercise and that is very important, so once you get the green light you will be able to continue. Please don't put yourself in a situation where you feel bad for NOT being able to exercise. It would be different if you just decided to stop cold turkey because you didn't feel like doing it, but you need to stop for your own well being right now.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. xo

Hey goys, thanks for the support. I go in for my MRI on Friday afternoon, I will keep you all posted!

I agree, you need to make sure you are okay before anything else! Please do keep us updated on what is going on!

Hugs!!
