Frustrated...

This has nothing to do with Disney but I just needed to get it off my chest...

Two weeks ago I had foot surgery to remove an extra bone in my foot with the re-attachment of my tendon. Well, I got my cast off yesterday and the stitches out...YAY!!! Here is where my frustration is. I haven't been able to walk very far with a cast and I thought since I was getting that off yesterday and a walking boot I would be able to walk without assistance (cane, crutches). Well to my surprise after I put the walking boot on, the pain in my foot was unbearable. I now have to use crutches to help me walk.

I just want to be able to walk around the mall with no problems or get a shower without having to have a shower chair and someone help me. :(

Did you discuss the pain with your doctor? maybe the walking boot is not fitted properly?

Understand your frustration - had knee surgery in March and couldn't wait to be "normal" again!

Good luck with getting it fixed. I can certainly understand your disappointment and frustration.

That sucks!!! Hopefully, you'll receive physical therapy to help you heal/walk. I hope you feel better soon. :flower3:

It is fitted properly, it is just that my doctor had to do some tendon work with it and the tendon has been tightened up and been in the cast for two weeks. Now it is being stretched to where it should be for my arch. The pain is getting better, but it is just the frustration of having people help me with the simple things.

I can relate!!!!

On July 1 I had a hernia surgery, and while that was repaired, I had two muscles repaired, and a tummy tuck of sorts (I had 4 inches of "extra" skin removed from my 4 C-sections.) The post surgery was awful for a week, then got better for a week. Then my 6 month old landed in the hospital for a week with seizures. She got released, and then guess what, I contracted MRSA in my "wound." Bam, another week in the hospital, and drainage tubes put back in, etc. I am basically back to square one. It has been a long month, and I am hoping to feel better soon.

I can't do anything alone!!!! I can't even hold my 6 month old. We can whine together, but also get through it together! PD to you!

And as icing on the cake, I was suppose to go on a girls only trip to WDW August 2, yep, had to cancel it. :rolleyes2

Sorry that you had to go through all that and cancel your trip.

I did this surgery now so I wouldn't have to worry about my foot hurting in Dec. when we are back in WDW.

What a bummer!! I feel for you and can totally relate! I broke my foot and had to have surgery on July 12 to repair tendons. I have four screws each two inches long in my foot. A month later, it still hurts a lot. I'm not allowed to walk on it for another 3 weeks. Crutches are driving me crazy and it bums me out to not be able to help the family with household chores and tasks. Worst part, we had to cancel a two week trip to California with a 4 days at Disneyland.

Looking at the bright side, I have a loving family who have all stepped up to help me out (DW drives me to work every day.) I will indeed heal up eventually, happy to not have permanent damage. I've had lots of time sitting around to read the DIS, various blogs, and watch lots of Disney related Youtube videos. And we were able to reschedule our vacation for October. Not a two week vacation, but instead, we'll be staying 7 nights at the Disneyland Hotel, and we get to do the Halloween party.

Looks like you have a trip planned for December. Here's to speedy and full recoveries so that we can enjoy our upcoming trips :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Thanks!! I am progressing a little bit better now that I am going into my 5th week of recovery. The only problem I am having is going down steps. I go to the doctor on Wednesday for a checkup. I guess we will see where my Dr feels I am at on Wednesday.

I am going to WDW for Christmas and that is why I wanted to have this done over the summer. I didn't even want to deal with a cast or my boot with winter weather.
