Frustrated with booking fast passes at Epcot.

I just did my fast passes for Epcot and am really frustrated with how little there is to choose from. The tiered system only allows one choice from the most popular selections and the second tier selections are not that appealing to us.

Is anyone else feeling this way? What is the strategy with the tiered system? Do you think they will ever open up Epcot the way MK is?

There is not enough attractions at Epcot to support the FP+ system. Am sure everyone wants mostly the Tier 1 FP+ and there are not enough to go around. So we have to share them. Pick one and work your day to do the others Standby. If you are on property then absolutely utilize EMH. DD worked at Soarin' and said EMH had fairly short waits.

I imagine when the Frozen stuff opens they will both be Tier 1 and they will likely drop one or two of the Tier 1 to Tier 2.

Right now, I think the only tier one FP worth getting is Test Track. I really can't see them going to a no tier system like they have in MK because MK has so many more headliners to spread out the choices.

The OP just did her FPs, which means she's going in March - Soarin' isn't going to be open in March. ;)

Yes, I saw that in her signature. My point was that a very popular attraction (Soarin' was the example) can have very short waits during EMH, so in her case with Soarin' closed it would be Test Track. Since her choices are Test Track, Illuminations, Living with the Land and Mission to Space ... guessing maybe she wants Illuminations and Test Track. The others have no long lines. Of course that assumes she will have access to EMH in her schedule.

Thanks for your replies everyone. We have our first Epcot day planned with breakfast at Captains Grill prior to entering the park. At the moment we have a FP for Test Track and one for Spaceship Earth followed by the "Behind the Seeds" tour. We also have a character meet for later in the afternoon although I can see that may only be me and DH as the boys have outgrown the characters a bit. As we are staying at Yacht Club I'll try to take advantage of popping over a few evenings for Illuminations so likely will not bother for FP for it. Probably more of our Epcot time this year will be focused around World Showcase. As much as I adore Epcot, there really could be some improvements made, especially in Future World.

We were there at rope drop Weds. Walked right on to Mission Space Orange, then sauntered over to Test Track and rode within 5 minutes using the single rider line. Rope drop is still your best friend, even with FP+ in play...

With Soarin closed, I would either use FP to ride TT twice or I would hit TT at rope drop and save my FP for another park. But yes, I think that FP+ at Epcot is terrible, worse than any of the other parks.

I will be there in a few weeks, and I fast passed Illuminations, SpaceSHip Earth, and the Meet and Greet. Not a thrill seeker.

I had a hard time at both Epcot and AK, because we are doing both of them on AM EMH days and getting there at rope drop. Epcot I chose Test Track (and we will ride it once at rope drop), Spaceship Earth, and Turtle Talk. Seems a bit of a waste, but they are "free". AK was hard but a bit easier. At least at Epcot, once we ride stuff, we have a bunch of stuff to look at in World Showcase, Flower & Garden, and at the end of some of the attractions, like Mission Space, Figment, and Test Track. I don't like zoos, so except for Safari, we avoid the animals at AK and don't do most of the shows. We will probably finish up at AK right after lunch, and that includes lunch at Tusker House. I look at it as an opportunity to swim in the afternoon and then head back to DHS to see the fireworks again. At least it will be a relaxing trip. We will spend all day at Epcot, but we can spend a lot of time in World Showcase.

Yes, tiering stinks. I don't see it going away at Epcot unless they build a lot more rides.
