Hugs OP. My advice to you is don't feel like you must plan these incredibly intensive exciting lessons EVERY single day. Think of them like steak dinners. You would probably do that once a week. It's ok to use the terrible worksheets every now and then especially since its your first year. Every year you will build up more amazing lessons and then it will become second nature but doing it your first year is insane.
The most important thing you need to be focused on is classroom management. Have you sat down and written down your rules and procedures yet? If not, do that today. Then make sure you have taught the kids that. I work in special ed and the biggest thing thing I see when teachers complain about behaviors is that the students don't know what is expected of them and when. Get that down and your year will be so much better
Hang in there! It does get so much easier.
