I'm booking us on the Sept 03 2006 4 night sailing and I can't seem to snag a decent deal. Disney.com is coming in at 1770.52, cruisingco.com is the same, cruisec.om is 1730.52, allseas is 1721.00, dreams so far has the best deal at $1710.52. And that's still only $60 less than Disney?

Is it hard to snag a deal on 4 night cruises? I was hoping for at least $100.00 less than the Disney.com price.

Am I hoping for too much?

Have you call Dana at www.micdan.com, she is wonderful. She got DH and I a cat 7 on the Magic for Sept 16, 2006 for $2100. I would give her a call. And she is just about the sweetest person there is.

The catch is to find an agency that has group space for the time frame and room category you are looking at....

Have you tried AAA and Costco?

Dana gets my vote as well! Everytime, exceot for once she was able to beat my lowest quote! That rare time that she was not able to beat it, she told me I had a great deal and to jump on it. Call the number listed at www.micdan.com

I agree that Dana is great.

Sorry! That's what I get for reading with DD jumping around. :)

Pea-N-Me, they actually were released in Sept.....I know because my DH thought I was nuts for booking a 05/06 cruise and an 09/06 cruise so far out! LOL He is thanking me today though!

OP, how many and what cat stateroom is that quote for??

Well, September 4, 2006 is Labor day so that might play into prices being more than you had hoped.

I have never had a quote from any TA that has saved the huge amounts off DCL prices that some people seem to find.
Guess a lot depends on when you are sailing.

You're right! I thought it was October but I just checked my confirmation for our Feb 2006 cruise and I booked it Sept 29, 2004. Also glad - the prices have gone up quite a bit since then. We also had an onboard discount and stateroom credit since we originally booked on our last cruise then carried it over. :cool2:

Someone asked me recently how to book a Disney Cruise and I suggested they try for 2007 when the rates come out in the fall. I think they thought I was a bit  but there's a lot to be said for that early booking savings.

The quote was for 4 Adults in a Cat 10 stateroom. We were planning on booking for 09/24/06 but Disney pulled those cruise dates. ::argh:: :sad2:

That actually sounds about right to me. We sailed Aug 29 last year on the 4 night cruise originally booked in a SPR for around the same price (later upgraded to Cat 5). It was also about $100 more than what we paid for our first 4 night cruise in Oct 2003, Cat 11. Personally, I'd go ahead and book it, it's not a bad price. :boat:

ETA just realized you said 4 adults. That makes it an even better deal since we had 2 children in our party.

Try vacationstogo.com. They have a great website that gives you lots of information (even if you don't book through them) and discounts many cruises.

You were so right about VACATIONSTOGO.COM! :cool1: :sunny: :cool1:

They gave me a quote of $1670.52!!! $100 less than DCL! I'm so thrilled!

Has anyone ever booked through them? Are they good?

When people find huge discounts - its usually because their TA had bought a block of rooms at group rates that they were selling to their customers. We got one of those for our next cruise with The Mouse For Less and saved appx. $700M off the DCL price at the time. Dreams Unlimited also had the same group rate for our cruise but none of the other popular Disney TAs had it. That is why it is always important to shop around even if you have a favorite TA.

If you book the cruise, log on the 9/3/06 cruise meet thread. We'd love to meet you! See the link on the bottom of my signature. :wave2:

When I booked our 9/06 cruise in December 04 DH thought I was insane. He really couldn't understand how much we would save. Well I showed him the price on DCL site and he thanked me. That and I told him that Amanda booked hers, to which he replyed "Do you do everything that Amanda does?" And I replyed, "Yes!" :earboy2:

OP, any luck on your cruise?

Anyone ever re-book on a cruise, then have Dana beat the price?

Yes 3 times..in Oct of 03(I was taking the first cruise that I had ever booked thru DANA) while onboard I booked for nov 04. I was ver y pleased with the price I got and did not expect Dana to be able to lower it. She came thry for me! In Nov 04 while onboard, I booked 09/05 (4 day wonder) and 09/6 (double scoop) and Dana saved me even more once I got home. Also I booked my 05/27/06 the day that rates were released thru DCL and then transferred to Dana for more savings....

Try cruise vacation center. I saved over $500 on our 11/06 cruise with them.
