Hi I'm new to the boards and I was wondering if anyone has tried buying things on the Frugal Betty website and what they thought of it. From what I read it sounds pretty good. Has anyone tried it?

I have learned so much from this board and my kids want to go back to WDW so we have been trying to work on a savings plan. All of the ideas on this board are great!

Thanks!

From what I read you shop at major stores ( target, toys r'us etc... no grocery stores as far as I know) through their website and they send you a percentage of the amount you purchased. It sounds almost too good to be true.

Actually, the site is very similar to others, like ebates.com. When I did my Christmas shopping through ebates, I received a check for about $23.00---and I really didn't buy all that much! There're several other sites that do the same thing. I don't have personal experience with frugalbetty, though.

Yep! I was going to say, that sounds just like ebates. I've been with them for years and have never had a problem. My current quarterly total is up to $11.00 and I think my last check was for $24.00.

Do you all do that much shopping on the internet?

I have only bought a few items on-line, major clearance sale and not paying shipping. I guess I don't see all the great savings.

I rarely pay for shipping. Some things I can get things cheaper on the internet than in the stores. We buy a lot of books, shop from the Disney store, toys, gifts, cds, movies, etc. I have gotten pet supplies cheaper at petco.com than in our local store.

I never pay more for an item than I can get it for locally and I almost always get it for less.

I also buy just what I am shopping for, I don't add in a lot of extras.

I'm about the same as Mommyboo. I only get things online that are cheaper than at bricks&mortar stores...usually with free or cheap shipping. Occasionally, I've bought things that are for people who are hard to buy for and nothing locally was quite right. You may find, as I have, that as the holidays get closer, there are some really, really great bargains to be had online...big discounts off purchases, rebates, B1G1free, etc. Two sources I check daily for deals are mycoupons.com and flamingworld.com.
Hope this helps!

I've used QuickRewards and Ebates, depending upon which has the largest percentage back. Ebates sends a check every three months as long as you have more than $5 credit, with QuickRewards you can cash in anytime you want.
