My grandfather just called.
My grandmother, is refusing to take her pills or eat. She lives in a retirement home (my grandfather doesn't) and refuses to talk to anyone, she hates it there. She refuses to talk to people, but if she does, she's calling the people who help her gestapos and nazis.
She has congestive heart failure, and I didn't think she'd make it past Christmas. My grandfather is really, really upset right now, and my dad has to go down there tomorrow. My grandfather, is not one to get upset. He's usually unemotional, stubborn and enjoys watching tv.
I'm really, afraid this is the end. My grandmother is just giving up on life.

I'm so sorry. It's hard when your Grandparents are in a home. I remember my Grandpa was in a home because he had cancer. it was hard to see him there.

Sorry. Hope you and your family will be better.

Thanks =)

I have not seen her since Christmas, which was awful. She starts coughing and winds up being sick, and it happens often. She's losing weight and just looks awful. The only good thing, was she got to see my dog, which was her wish before she dies.
I have not lost a relative since I was five, so I don't know how to cope. For a while, I've just kind of felt like it would be best for her to go. She's not happy, healthy and refuses to try to enjoy the place she is in. I cannot deal with seeing her ill like she is...
you know?

Losing a relative is hard. I go to family members' funerals every year or so. Now, I have no idea if this'll help you or not, but I never mourn my family. Instead, I celebrate their life. (That just sounded totally religious.) I don't think that they're gone forever. I cherish the memories with and of that person. It keeps a part of them alive, somehow. That's just my two cents.

whatever happens, happens.
but i'm sure it will be the best for you and her.

but don't forget, meesh is here to save the day. ;)

My advice = remember if she does go she is happier && in a better place [ aka heaven ]
if you cry, just cry once and let it ALL out
its okay to miss them
cherish the memories
ask for something to remind you of her. [ example my grandmother died and my dad gave me 2 pairs of earrings that were hers and came from italy, where she was born.]

My great grandma died because she wouldn't eat or drink or anything. That was sad. I know how you feel.
I'm sorry.

my grandmother is also sick.
she needs a new liver because her is like shot.
right now, she needs to take medication to stop toxins from her liver from going to her brain.
while she was on vacation, she was in california, i live in jersey, she was in the hospital three times. so i know how you feel not being able to she her while she is sick. and my grandfather is also very stubborn, so when he is upset youu know that whatever it is that is going on is very serious.

but i hope all goes well for you and your grandmother.
i'll keep her in my prayers.

That happened to me recently and so PM me if you want to talk about it.
