Frozen to be performed 3x per day

I am in line to see the show now and it lioks like it is an hour long. With that, I can understand the 3 shows a day. I don't recall Aladdin being as long.

Only 3 shows??? That seems like they're begging for disaster. Either that, or they want the place jam packed so that they can say "Frozen Live has been performing to sell-out crowds at every performance for the entire first month!"
Or, if you're a conspiracy theorist, it's due to the Shanghai overruns, and will expand to six showings in the third quarter if Shanghai meets or beats projections.

Hey everyone, quick report.

I LOVED THE SHOW!

It was so well done, and great adaptation of the animated movie. I hope to blog about it, and also hope to upload a couple of pictures on this thread if I can. I also did some interviews, but I'm definitely a rookie and you can tell, but it was fun, and glad I got the opportunity to do so.

Aladdin was 40 minutes, so that is a big increase in time. I definitely can see why there are less shows. That is a lot of time out of the park day too- I'm surprised it is that long. Can't wait to see your photos and hear more about it!

We are hoping to see it on Monday, so I'm hoping someone will update about how FP are working.

One of my former students is in the show!

It is a very good show with a lot of technical aspects. The doors opened late for our show last night. I was standing next to the grandparents of the technical director in the queue, and less than an hour before the scheduled start of the show he was called back to work out glitches. The show started probably half an hour late, maybe a little less.
I think they want to start cautiously with only three shows in case they run into problems. Since it is almost an hour long show, right now they don't have a large buffer between shows in case anything goes wrong.
An interview I saw on the news this morning said that they hope to expand to five shows a day in the height of summer.

HMMM- if it goes to 5 shows a day, I may have to push hard to get DD to relent and let us try to see it...but I have to admit, I am kind of over Frozen too- and I didn't live and breathe it like she did. I guess I will have to wait and see if the photos and reviews of the show and its special effects and staging will be enough to get me excited about it. It definitely makes sense that if they are working out the glitches they need to spread out the shows and do less for a while.

Okay---- let the picture and review posts start coming!!!

Interesting to know. :) He was one of the people I got to interview.

My take on it is this: it was very entertaining and an ambitious production. If you are a musical theater person and love going to see Broadway quality productions, you should definitely see it. I want to see it again from the orchestra. Only press and big wigs sat in the orchestra, we were in the mezzanine and couldn't see some of the effects.
When my DIS friends come to town, I will go with them if they want to see it. Otherwise I will let all the Frozen fanatics have the opportunity. I liked it more for the production value, stage sets, costumes, and special effects. The music was good and executed well, but the music does not have the appeal to me that Aladdin did (which I saw over and over).

Nice. Were you in the orchestra? An ice sculpture was mentioned in our program, that we couldn't see from the top of the mezzanine. (Don't want to give away spoilers!)
I hope that everyone who sees the show can have their breath taken away with the effects and "costume changes" that were so dramatic seeing it for the first time! I see why no photography or video is allowed. The clips they have released are very "specific".

Yes, I was in the orchestra, dead center, about 6/7 rows from the stage. I got to interview the person in charge of Sven and got to touch Sven (so cool), the costumer (she had samples out there, including Elsa's gown), and the tech director, who changed the background on the set while we were talking in the balcony. (I was geeking out).

That's so exciting!

I got a Frozen FP this morning! They were being distributed across from the Marvel M&G area. They made everyone enter via the old Mad T Party area. To expedite distribution, they weren't scanning tickets this morning. The CMS had stacks of FP and they just glances at the number of tickets and then give you the FP. (So, I don't know if the FP is disconnected.)

Does anybody know if the fastpasses are connected or disconnected? I would assume disconnected, since Figment mentioned they did not scan the tickets, just looked at them.

As long as they don't scan them, they're disconnected. I think what Figment was saying is he doesn't know what will happen when they switch to the kiosks as far as connected or not. The fact that they're just handing them out makes me think they'll stay disconnected.

How long was the FP line?
