The black out on local AP's ends on 8/18 (or 16, I forget now) so after then you have an influx of locals going. I suspect that has aided in the sell out of the end of the month.
Just want to note that when I called on the day it was announced the CM could not get me in and stated to me that it must have sold out really fast! I was not ready to give up that quickly because it seemed impossible so i kept bugging her and finally she tried to book it by putting in my name and info and...BINGO! i got the reservation. I'm not saying that is the case now, but it would be worth a try if you would like to call and ask. good luck!
I will have to call back tomorrow. CM was also surpraised it was all sold out...wonder if there is something glitching in thier system.
All I know is it didn't make sense.

But it's normal, right? You shut out AP folks till that last week. Tell me again how that will be a low crowd week, and not I sanity, squared.
There were a LOT of issues and glitches today. Ive read everything to no fastpasses to no ADRs to not even being able to book trips. My hypothesis is that they are updating the system or releasing new stuff (some speculate it is 2015 rates). Anyhow, seems too convenient for all of these systems to be unavailable on the same day. Check back tomorrow, hopefully they fix it.
Wait... So if you have an annual pass to WDW, there are days you CAN'T GO???? What????? Sorry to hijack.,. I found that shocking!

As a former FL local, because most Floridians DO NOT go to theme parks in August when they have the option of going during any other time of the year - it's a weather thing. My FL friends equate doing inside activities July thru Sept the way we Northerners do indoor activities Dec thru Feb - to avoid hanging outside in the most extreme weather for the area.
They do come out more often for special events, though, so FSF might be a draw for some once the blackout is lifted. Hoping not to the point of insanity, we'll see - we'll be there!
