So...what's the average price of a tall, fruity, "girlie" drink (as my DH would call them...and yes, he drinks them too!) :rotfl:

Been wondering about these too...are they an obvious syrupy mix with a bit of generic rum (or whichever alcohol)? Or are they made individually with a good amount of a decent liquor and worth the price? Too sweet just leads to headaches for me! But well made fruity drinks...mmmmm!

I think they were around the 5-6 dollar range. They have a drink special everyday too and they are a little cheaper. I personally enjoyed the 2 for 1 margaritas on the last day. It made packing a little easier!!! :flower1:

DH and I had some kind of fruity concoction at the sailaway party - the CM added a shot of tequila (I assume) and the total cost was $4.50 each. It was mostly sugary slush, but we figured we had to have something to start the trip off right! :earsboy:

I really didn't think it tasted very good - probably would have been better off getting the drinks from the bar instead of the CM. We stuck with wine and champagne for the rest of the voyage - but that's OK too!

I really want to try that Conk Cooler on Castaway Cay - I've heard that it's really good, but I had a nasty cold when we were there and didn't get to try it.

Anyone out there had a chance to try one?

I've had one. It's tropical fruity and good but IMHO if you want a really good foufou drink, try a Midori (Melon) Colada! Can you say YUMMY!

I just got back from the 1/15 cruise and I highly recommend the Key Lime Margueritas at signals. The drink of the day is usually $3.50 and the rest were around $4.50. The cove cafe's drinks are around $4.75 love the after dinner coffees. I think I drank my quota :cool1:
ENJOY!

Loved the konk coolers at $4.75 (I think), I also loved the Planters Punch which was the drink of the day one day ($3.50). We make the konk coolers here at home and drink them in our DCL hurricane glasses. :teeth:

I have two favorite drinks, a Rum Runner (becareful 100 proof rum on top) which is really tastey!!, the other is the konk Kooler!!!, you know now that I'm thinking back I really liked the "sail away " drink too, I think that was a version of a Pina Colada.................

Another vote for the Rum Runner - its made with a bunch of differant rums. When I'm on Castaway Cay I plant my butt in a hamick and drink them all day.

It seemed all my drinks ran about $4.75 without tip.

Just an FYI for all you people who don't know... although the Konk Kooler is drink of the day on Castaway Cay day, you can order one anytime... And I think they are better tasting made one at a time than when they make huge "batches" on CC day.

I always order one for the sail-away party. The bartenders will know for sure you are a Castaway club member :cool1:
I always ask for it to be made with extra "konk"

Not a fruity drink story but.....

I ordered a Toasted Almond on the ship and they made it with Bailey's instead of cream or 1/2 and 1/2. I did not request this, they just made it that way. :goodvibes

So they do use high end liquors on board.

2 for 1 Margarita Day was also my favorite! My husband doesn't like Margarita's so that left me with 1 for each hand and they were fantastic! :sunny:

Don't forget to try the BBC. My 3 favorite drinks on the ship are the Bon Voyage drink (Strawberry Pina Colada), the BBC, and the Konk Cooler....don't miss trying these 3. I generally don't get the drink of the day because they make most of them that I tried strong with a lot of liquor.

They do not use cheap liquor. For the BBC they used Baileys, Kaluha, and Myers Dark Rum, 2 bananas, and vanilla cream all for $4.50....well worth is for me.

We were on the 1/13 Wonder and the drink of the day was the Bon Voyage. It was half Pina Colada and half Strawberry Daquiri. I'm not one much for Pina Colada, but these drinks were awesome. They had them througout the ship for the sailaway party, so we decided to try one and ended up getting another later one.
Also at CC, the Conch Coolers are awesome. (I guess you can get these anywhere on the ship, but we had ours at Conched Out on CC). Man they are YUMMY!

Does anyone have the exact recipe for a BBC? I found one on the internet, but it doesn't quite taste like the ones on board. These and the Cape Cod Margarita's were our favorites. :cool1:

Thanks :teeth:

Maybe I should know but I don't...what is the BBC drink????? Thanks! :flower:
BBC---Those are GREAT! I watched the guy in Diversions make mine and what I can remember is he put a real banana, Baileys Cream, and I forget the 3rd ingredient into a blender and blended it. It was really good! I also tried all the drinks of the day and liked them all, but the BBC was my favorite. I was also told that if you buy the drink of the day in the souvenir glass, you could refill it with any exotic drink for the $3.50. I did do that a couple times, but didn't pay for the drink, so I don't know if that was true. I do know it was true for the souvenir beer glasses (buy the glass and you pay the lesser amount for more beer).

Thanks for the info on the drink..I will try it on our next cruise. Hey I live in Kirkwood,Mo. Are you close?? You can PM me if you want. :flower:
