I really want to try that Conk Cooler on Castaway Cay - I've heard that it's really good, but I had a nasty cold when we were there and didn't get to try it.

Anyone out there had a chance to try one?

Konk Koolers are the bomb. We got them on the ship at the bar where Pinoccio's Pizza is. The bartender there made us a fresh blender full each time we ordered them. Very, very yummy. They don't make a big deal about it but you can order them on the ship, you don't have to wait for CC. We even got the recipe and have made them a couple of times since we got home. They taste just as good in my living room as they did walking around the deck of the ship.

Can you tell us the recipe???? They were one of my favorites and I have the plastic coconuts they came in. It would be fun to make then at home and get "prepared" for my upcoming cruise!!! Thanks! :flower:

I would love to have these recipes myself. Great way to look forward to a cruise, or just to pretend that I'm on one. What does BBC stand for?

Konk Kooler recipe
Konk Kooler:

1/2 can cream of coconut
3 ounces light rum
3 ounces dark rum
1/2 of a 12oz can frozen passion fruit juice concentrate(Welches)
4 oz of orange juice
2-3 cups of ice
Add all together in a blender until very fine and serve!

Thank you very much!!!!! I think I feel a Konk Kooler weekend coming up!!!! :flower:

BBC stands for Baileys, Banana, and Cream. But the drink also has Dark Rum and our bartender floated it with a shot of Kaluha.

:cool1:

Boy! Reading all these posts makes my liver hurt!! But it's a "good hurt"! ;)

That Bon Voyage drink sounds too yummy!! Do they make them "virgin"? I KNOW my 7 year old will want one! The day we sail will be his birthday so I guess it would be the right thing to do.

Thanks for the Konk Kooler recipe. I'll be getting those ingredients this weekend you can bet. :cool1: Anyone know the exact recipes for BBC, Planters Punch, Rum Runner and the Bon Voyage Drink (Strawberry Pina Colada)?

It was mentioned that the BBC has Bailey's, Banana and cream, also some dark rum. How much of each? What does floating it with Kaluha mean? Also someone said vanilla cream, anyone know what that is? Ice Cream? Someone else mentioned it had Bailey's, Banana and Colada mix. Anyone have an actual recipe? :confused3

I'm the type that has to follow a recipe! LOL

"Kaluha floated", means that a shot of Kaluha is poured on top of the drink after all the ingredients are mixed together.

I have noticed many different recipes for a BBC. How the DCL bartender did it for me (and how I do it at home) is:

2 banana
1 shot Bailey's Irish Cream
2-3 scoops ice cream
1/4 cup milk

Put in Blender with ice. Blend, then add 1 shot dark rum and 1 shot of Kaluha. I add enough ice cream to make 2 drinks.

Thank you. :worship:

I don't want to show my ignorance here, but why put the rum & kaluha on top? Wouldn't it taste better if it was mixed in, or is this just a visual thing, and you mix it up with a straw later anyway?

Any other of the recipes out there? I'm driving into the city tomorrow so I'll be able to pick up ingredients then. I'm thinking of inviting my 4 sisters, their husbands, etc and convince them a cruise is a great idea. Think it will work? A couple of the guys aren't into the "creamy" drinks, so maybe another one of the recipes will surface before tomorrow morning!

YES, stir in the rum and Kaluha with the straw...it slowly will sink to the bottom when you float it on top if you don't stir it, but I always stir it in anyway.

Thank you so much for the Conk Cooler recipe! I can't wait to give it a try and thanks to you guys I don't have to wait until October.

Isn't this a great place?? :teeth:

OK, I've now collected the Baha Mama, Konk Kooker, BBC, and Bushwacker. Any others that make you think of your trip? :drinking1

You can also use the frozen Bacardi pina colada mix if you can't find cream of coconut. This is what we used and they turned out perfect.

Thanks so much for the recipes, the "fun girls" are drinking this weekend :rotfl:

Yes, the sail away drink "Miami Vice" (half pina colada and half strawberry daquri) can definately be had "virgin".

Here is a pic with my DD's having it in January....and my son is holding the refillable glass beer mug

My favorite is a Kaluha Colada (pina colada with kahlua) Ok I have only been reading through this post and now I can not spell!!!!

There were also specials by the PITCHER in one of the bars one night. It was during the 80's show. I believe the price was $9.95. It was the huge pitcher, but it was pretty big.

I just checked my print out. $4.31 for the K colada, Konk koolers $5.46
Something at Parrot Cay was only $4.03!!! I must have been a cheap date that night!!!!! :rotfl: Pitcher price appears to be 10.93.

I can not tell which ones had tips... sorry
