Woohoo, I get to start a cruise meet thread! We did an onboard booking for this trip while on the 11-night Med, our first DCL trip and our first-ever cruise. Therefore, I know nearly nothing about these threads, but I'm happy to plant the seed for one.

If anyone would like to organize a Fish Extender group, we would love to participate!

Anyone else joining us on this adventure?

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

Have a great cruise!

I booked on this cruise in April. It will be just one of my sons and me. He turns ten on the last day of the cruise.

:woohoo: woo-hoo!! :cool1: We are officially booked for this cruise! It's just me and DS, who will be 7 then. Wish the port times were longer, but it's still Alaska and it's still a Disney cruise

We just booked this cruise while on board the Dream last week! Looking forward to getting to know everyone. The cruise will be DH and me - no kiddos to speak of yet.

Count us in, we are on this cruise!

Me, DH, DD(who will be 10 at the time of the cruise), MIL

This will be our 5th Disney cruise,, (so will still be silver) but will be our 3rd time on the Wonder. We did the NYE cruise this past year and will be on the MR in Nov and now this one. We are excited about Alaska and like the idea of sailing out of Seattle, since we have family there.

Tink - I see you are from AZ. Same here.

Laura

tink and lucky1, where in AZ are you? Our friends/cruising buddies from last week are in Tucson, and we also have family who recently moved to Chandler :) Hoping to visit there for the first time for Thanksgiving this year!

Tucson for me! How was your cruise last week? Have not yet been on the dream.

Too funny! I wish our friends were cruising with us again - would be fun to have someone local to them on board.

The Dream was a-maaaaa-zing! I think the only thing about Alaska that we aren't looking forward to is that it isn't on one of the new ships. The Dream is absolutely beautiful all around...all the drama that gets stirred up on here about its "flaws" makes no sense to me, as I loved everything about it, except for the fact that I'm not still on board :)

I think there was the same drama here about the Wonder and Magic flaws from experience cruisers back 10 or so years ago. Been on the Magic and Wonder most recently (within the last 2 years) and still think it is nice. Only thing I am not looking forward to on the Wonder is the Toy Story show.

As long as Toy Story is better than Villians Tonight (GOD AWFUL YOU COULDN'T PAY ME ENOUGH TO SEE IT AGAIN UGH) I think we'll be OK :)

Can we spark some discussion here...? What ARE you most looking forward to on the Wonder? I'm eyeballing the dogsledding excursion and, if I can convince hubby, a couples treatment at the spa...

I'm looking forward to the train excursion into the mountains and Tracy Arm, I just love mountains and am excited about the scenery. (sad, but true!)

I looked at the dog sledding but was that expensive :scared1:

Considering the Canoeing through the glaciers.

I agree ame, we are on this for the scenery. Can't wait!

We decided to use DVC points after our cruise on the Dream.

Myself, Wife, Son 16 and daughter 10. Very much looking forward to seeing the glaciers before they vanish.

Steve

Hello!!! My daughter (will be 5 then) and I are booked on this cruise as well. It will be our first!!!!! :woohoo: Last weekend, my mother and her friend booked it as well.

I am so exited!

But wow! I haven't even looked at excursions yet. :scared1: :rotfl: I thought the TA would send me info on excursions, but maybe it doesn't work like that? As noted, I have never done this before. :rotfl:

:welcome: Steve and RGirl !

Actually depends on your TA. But you can go on to the DCL website and look at the current excursions.. These could change based upon 2012 port time, but at least it gives you some idea.

Ask away if you have any questions.. This will be our 5th DCL trip. But our first Alaska cruise.

Thanks lucky1! I will have to check out the site - some more fun Disney planning to do! :woohoo:

5 DCL cruises - Wow! Well, I'd guess you would say we were making the right vacation choice. ;)

Based on the excursions mentioned here (and from poking around the rest of the DCL board a little today), it seems like they are somewhat "adventure"-oriented. Anyone know which ones are most kid-friendly?
