Frozen Ever After (RUMOR) started by Disney's MDE

Maelstrom did not have a height requirement, but it did have an age requirement in that 7 years or under had to be accompanied by someone 14 years or over, which was a very odd requirement that didn't really jive with any other Disney attraction.

Actually, I think that's the rule for every ride.

Yes, it is. When we were there last fall the kids were 5 and 9 respectively. They could not ride in a ride vehicle alone even with us in the next vehicle. Our first day was at DHS and DH and I went to grab some food while the kids were playing in the Honey I Shrunk the Kids area and after a bit DD9 came running up to tell us DD5 was being held by a CM because we weren't there.

My ignorance and lazy parenting strategy landed DD5 in Disney jail. Oops.

As far as I know there is no height requirement. The ride is almost exactly the same layout. This is likely just a glitch with the system. Disney will fix it in time.

I can't imagine this ride having a height requirement. That would be mighty odd.
When a ride has drop-down shoulder harnesses, there has to be a height requirement so that the harness fits properly. And anytime an attraction has one or more inversions, there have to be shoulder harnesses.

So given the inversions on the Frozen ride, I would expect it to have harnesses and therefore have a height requirement.

Hey. If this is going to be a thread about rumors, we may as well make the rumors good ones, right?? :goodvibes;) Anna will be upside down!!

Really hoping for no 40" minimum...but more importantly to be open before our June trip! I was expecting us all to be riding this together, but as long as it's open I'm not complaining!

Lol...you trying to start a riot 'round here??:rotfl2:

There is no way there would be a 40" height requirement.

It's a ride that is MEANT to draw families with preschoolers to a park (and World Showcase) that they now pretty much avoid. They wouldn't make this a ride that families couldn't go on together. LOL. They already have a ton of those at Epcot.

If Maelstrom didn't have a height requirement (and I don't think it's little drop was anything that would need a height requirement) .. then this wouldn't either. It is pretty much the same as going on Pirates .

Will there be a Disco Elsa? :teeth:

Seriously, unless they really speed this ride up I can't see restrictions. Of course speeding it up could help with that capacity issue....

If we're discussing rumours... then I'll make up my own.

Quite frankly, the inversion theory is hogwash. They're making this a bobsled track, that's why there will be height restriction.

Faster than Test Track, enjoy the thrill of a Frozen bobsled run as you careen from atop Elsa's castle towards Arendelle with hungry wolves at your heals!

While I 100% agree that the Frozen Ever After ride won't have a height requirement (I love the Sky Is Falling conversations on these boards), it wouldn't be without precedent for a "family" ride at Disney to need a height requirement. Both 7DMT & BS are right in the middle of Fantasyland and both have height restrictions though low ones (38" & 35" respectively). More egregious though is their 2 seater configurations which make it very difficult to ride without Child swapping for parents outnumbered by their small, 7 years or younger children.

I know you just made this up, but I love that idea! There is a theme park about 1 1/2 hours from us that has a bobsled ride and that theme would work! :smooth:

I think they are just entering the info in because my screen shows a Guest Height Category with 32, 35, 38, 40, 42, 44, 48inches and Any Height
Oh and Accessibility & Advisories that state "May Remain in Wheelchair/ECV"
Slow Ride Thrill Level

I'm seeing that on the website as well:

"32in (81cm) or taller35in (89cm) or taller38in (97cm) or taller40in (102cm) or taller42in (107cm) or taller44in (112cm) or taller48in (122cm) or tallerAny Height"

"Soon, you’ll be rubbing shoulders with some “boulders”—a.k.a. Kristoff’s family from Troll Valley—before bracing for the cold. "

I SO hope those trolls shout at me to go over the falls.

I think they are just entering the info ....

It is just so ridiculous that Disney has not taken the time to create a "master" site where the changes are made out of sight of customers and then made live *when it's ready*.

"This place just got interesting."

you can't go by anything the website says. Especially now when the attraction isn't even finished yet.

I thought this was the ride where Disney introduced their new 3D ride vehicle technology. Put on your glasses, watch a screen and feel the effects as Snowflake launches you 30 feet off the cliff.

that's not always true.

Stitch has the drop down shoulder harness and no height restrictions.

Of course in that case I think the shoulder harness exists to prevent everyone from leaving!

Actually I know of one ride that has inversions and no shoulder harnesses...Rip-Ride Rock-It at Universal. Honestly, when I first rode it and saw the lap-bar thing it uses, I was a little nervous! Awesome ride though.

It also houses some of the equipment used to create the special effects.
