Frozen Ever After LIVE reports!

FP+ for 5pm yesterday; waited in FP+ line 1 hour and 20 minutes while they worked on the ride. They powered down just after I got in line (it came over the p/a.) At least I was inside the a/c. No water brought around, but they did give out little sample-size cups of caramel corn after an hour.

Was it worth it? If I'd known ahead I'd be waiting that long, I wouldn't have done it. But after the fact -- yeah, the ride was cute and fun. I'm saddened to hear the 1st Olaf wasn't working for some; I thought he was the best thing in the ride.

When I exited, it looked like Standby was closed, but the FP+ line stretched to China.

I was wondering the same thing. My son was also traumatized by the Maelstrom drop (we didn't know about it in advance), and if it is still there we won't ride this.
The track is exactly the same. Nothing was changed.

This is a great comparison video of the two rides side by side (two screens):
(Obviously contains spoilers for the new ride). If you go to right around 3 minutes into the video you can see the drops on both rides. It appears that part hasn't changed much.
:thanks:

I am excited by this ride! I never went on Malestorm. Does anyone know of this ride takes wheelchairs? I don't want to get my hopes up then realise like POC i can't ride it. The boats where I have to get out of my chair are no good. The sides are too high for me to climb in. My hips are fused. Jungle cruise and IASW are the coolest. They are kind enough to have this cool boat that takes a wheelchair!
I saw the warning sign in some videos, and it says anyone in a wheelchair must transfer, so I don't think they have boats that take wheelchairs.

Reports are that it's down again, people have been evacuated and they are draining the ride From twitter

I do not recall a wheelchair accessible boat on Maelstrom and I doubt there is one on FEA either. Like POTC, FEA has a (small) drop so I am not sure that would be deemed safe. iasw is all flat water so the wheelchair can be loaded.

Oh my a drop? Ok thank you for your kind reply. Video enjoyment only for me then!

they are draining the ride
If that is true, (and I'm not saying it is or isn't...but Twitter isn't exactly the Associated Press), then the ride is done for the day, I would think.

Well, it is a very mild drop, not like Splash Mountain or anything. It's about like Pirates, except not pitch black. I'm just thinking that is likely the reason why iasw has wheelchair accessible boats and POTC and Maelstrom do not. I believe a ride with flat water can accommodate such, but lifts and drops cannot.

I see thank you. Well drop aside the issue is that if the boat sides are too high and it does not have a little door then I can't get in the boat. My legs just won't bend that way sadly! I am no gymnast that is for sure... Lol.

Seeing that shows just how empty the Frozen ride seems. There is so much empty, wasted space. :(

This is especially true once the boat starts to go backwards. Up to that point, Frozen seems like a decent upgrade. But after the boat starts to go backwards, there is almost nothing left to FEA, whereas Maelstrom still had some excellent scenes. I wonder what became of the polar bear. I'd love to put that in my house!

popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::I can't believe they are evacuating and draining! Kinda glad our trip ended the day before this opened. We will ride next trip once the kinks are worked out.
