Frozen Ever After FP+ Question

I'm sure this question has probably been asked in some form somewhere else in the forum, so I'll apologize in advance, but I'm hoping to get some more info on the Frozen Ever After FP+ situation.

My 30 day FP+ window opens in about a week and a half, so I was doing some advanced planning. I will be traveling in a party of 7, and wanted to get a sense of what the FP+ for FEA would be. Doing a quick search of FP available for that ride for 11/24 (30 days ahead), I noticed there were no FP availible for that ride for a party of 7. Given it is now past noon, I imagine that most people are booking FP in the early morning, and so availability would already be limited.

I'm planning to stay up until midnight, every night, when my FP window opens to ensure the best chance of snagging the FP I want, but what have people's experiences been in trying to grab FP for FEA? Are they already gone for the most part by the time the 30-day window opens (I'm guessing most people who can book 60-days in advance are grabbing FEA FPs)?

In other words, what is the likelihood that if I login 30 days in advance at midnight, I would be able to grab 7 FPs for FEA?

Thanks for any help/advice!

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you have to wait until 7am EST to book FP+ now. I did get one for Frozen at the 60 day mark but I'm not sure that I want it so I might cancel. It's just for one person though.

FP bookings happen at 7am EST, not midnight the night before - so get some sleep! 30 days out will be tough since all the onsite guests can book at 60 days out. But you can always keep checking back as your trip gets closer and see if one opens up.

I would say your likelihood is not very good. We are a party of 5, and at 60 days out there was limited availability for the entire week, nothing before noon. As of now, 35 days out, there is nothing for the entire week. However, we did switch our days and after checking multiple times I was able to nab a FP for our new Epcot day, so just like with dining reservations cancellations are sure to pop up here or there.

I believe the time has changed to 7:00am the day that you can schedule your FP+. We didn't have any trouble getting FP for 3 but we were able to book at 60 day window. We also went right at RD and rode with maybe a 10 minute wait.

Ah, good to know the window opens at 7! Hmm seems like it will be unlikely for me to get a FP for 7, unless I get lucky :(

So then as a follow up question, would it be best to rope drop FEA (world showcase now opens when the front of the park does, right?), and the FP either soarin or test track.

Usually we FP Soarin and head straight for TT, but now that I have to factor in FEA, it messes things up a bit (especially with 7 of us). Is it better to FP test track now that Soarin has 3 theaters? I feel like we will end up doing a lot of backtracking!

Typical advice: assuming no FP for FEA get to Epcot 45 minutes before rope drop to get in front of crowds, then speed walk to FEA. OR rideride just before closing. Yes, FP Test Track in that case.

Thanks, that's probably what I will end up doing!

This tiered FP+ system always makes me look bad - either you end up dragging your family back and forth to different sections of the park, or you don't make it to all the rides you want! Oh well, I guess that's why it's best to have contingency plans!

It's a long shot, but you could always set up a reservation finder through Touring Plans to get a PPO Akershus breakfast, and then beat the line to FEA. It depends on how important your time is to you. My sister and her boyfriend went a few weeks ago and waited in the standby line so it's not impossible. She thought it was worth it and he did not, figure that haha!

Correct. You can plan all this out to make it look great on paper, and you should definitely do that. But the biggest fear for me is always will the ride be operating. Break downs can kill a plan. That is when everyone has to stay positive and go to plan B.

Definitely FP TT. Couple reasons:
  • If they run all concourses for Soarin', it reduces wait.
  • Soarin' has a covered queue and ride.
  • Soarin' will not close in rain, which can really screw up standby.

I already have a dinner res. for Germany, so I'm not going to be booking a breakfast reservation (though that option did cross my mind)! The bad thing about heading straight for the back is that this will be my niece and nephew's first time in Epcot (they are 5 and 6). I know they will want to stop and look at things along the way - I also know they are excited to go on most of the rides. My biggest challange will be finding the balance between rushing to get rides in and giving them time to soak everything in!

I really miss the old FP system (I had that mastered)!

Good point! Looks like I will be FP that then!

Just to clarify FEA opens at park open (9am), but the rest of world showcase still opens at 11, right?
