With the way FP+ is structured for EPCOT how is it possible to do Soarin and the new Frozen ride in the same day without an hours long wait? We are only going to have one day in EPCOT in late July, should I make a FP for frozen and be at Soarin at rope drop? Vice-versa? Pray, what???

I think Soarin' will likely still have to be the rope drop. Early Magic Hours is the way I'd go.

Thank you for your help. But EMH doesn't help with either of these rides, does it? Or does it? EMH is for future world only for EPCOT (isn't it?) and both these are in World Showcase.

Soarin is in Future world and Frozen is In the Norway pavilion in World Showcase

Soarin' is in Futureworld.

OH YAY! Thanks! I was thinking that Soarin was in WS. This helps me bunches.

This is our plan exactly. Well, sort of :)

We have 4 days in Epcot. Our tier 1s are TT, Soarin', Soarin', and FEA. The first Epcot day is before the new film debuts, but we don't want to drop the TT FP, so we plan to use AM EMH to ride Soarin' once more with the old film.

I also read that starting with Frozen Ever After and the Sommerhus Meet & Greet opening, Norway is going to open at 9 AM with Future World

I was going to comment the same thing - Norway will be open at 9am with Future World

Another option is to do a pre-park opening ADR at Akershus and be done before 9am so you can get right in line for FAE or the M&G

Rope Drop Soarin' and FP Frozen.
This is definitely the best solution. But note that if you want to also do the Meet and Greet, you are pretty much resigning yourself to an hour+ wait somewhere. By the time you finish Soarin' and make a beeline for the Meet and Greet, the wait will be more than an hour. And if you start out at the M&G and then backtrack to Soarin', you will likely find a 45-75 minute wait there. Definitely try for the FP at FEA as this avoids the problem of going all the way to Norway only to be met with disappointment. With the FP, you can go to Norway when it best fits into your daily schedule. So this means RD Soarin', which means a very long wait at the M&G and a fairly long wait at Test Track. As long as these tiers remain in place, Epcot is best done as a two day park where you don't try to do everything in a single day. I know this doesn't help the OP, but that is the reality of the situation.

Does Epcot let people in at rope drop before 9am like Magic Kingdom (sometimes 8:45-850ish after welcome show) or is is a solid 9am time?

There's like 6 rides, 3 of which you won't do at epcot. It's not that much time out of the day to wait for a couple of them and fastpass the important one.

Not sure I follow this. Who is the "you" in that sentence? I don't see where the OP has said that there are 3 rides which they won't do.

This is our plan. FP Soarin', and an 8am ADR at Akershus. Here's hoping there are no big breakfast snags so we can hop in the FEA line.

I am already getting so stressed out about this! My daughter is a huge Frozen fan so both the ride and M&G are a priority for us. I, like everyone else, plan to try and get a PPO ADR at Akershus and get a jump on the M&G and FP the ride. My ADR date is this weekend and I'm so stressed about what if I can't get the ADR? And then what if I can't get a FP? I feel like I need to have 5 backup plans! I almost just wish they'd do the paid morning thing like they did in MK. As much as I'd hate having to pay extra, I'd probably do it for this just to not have to stress out about it! LOL!

We were speculating that if the MK paid morning worked out that they could definitely do some sort of combo pay one price that gets you breakfast at Akershus and the A&E M&G and onto FEA before it opens to the rest of guests, they could have had that private until the rest of World Showcase opened at 11 - I bet at least for the first few months people would be willing to pay a pretty tidy sum for that

My mom and I are making a trip in July, with 2 days set aside for Epcot. I'd been hoping we could get on both new rides, but only Soarin was open at my 60-day mark almost two weeks ago. So I FPd it for both days.

I didn't even know FEA had announced its opening until I saw this thread just now. Went into MDE and was so surprised to be able to change one Soarin to FEA with very little difference in times!

I understand the dilemma for those of you with just one day at Epcot - - I have to agree with PPs who recommend rope drop for Soarin and FP for FEA, FEA being the unknown setup etc.

But it was a nice surprise to find out there is FEA FP availability left even if you're not up at 12:01 on the first day of your window!
