Need some ideas.

I need to bring 2 birthday cakes to a party and need some frosting ideas. I am looking for something that is pretty plain and not chocolate....need one for a chocolate cake and a white cake.

Thought about a 7 minute white fluffy for one, but not too sure about the other. Saunders is yummy, but so greasy I would prefer not to use that one.

Any ideas? Thanks!!!

How about cream cheese frosting by Betty Crocker? YUM-MEE! :)

lemon is probably one of my favorite frostings.

Butter frosting:

1 stick butter
3 c powdered sugar
3-4 Tbls milk
1 tsp vanilla (or almond)

mix together until smooth....add more powdered sugar or milk until desired consistancy.

I always make this on my chocolate cake. Very good! Actually, as I read this post, I just finished eating one of my sugar cut out cookies with that frosting on too. :D

Whip Cream frosting....lighter than the lard frosting and delicious. I like it better on chocolate cake. You use actual heavy whip cream....not like cool whip.

another vote for the whipped cream frosting. Especially if you made a cake that has a strawberry filling, that is a GOOD cake! :teeth:

tricia.

Thanks everyone!

Dumb question??? YOu mean just whip up heavy whipping cream with some vanilla?

That's what we did when we made it, just like making regular whipped cream, then wipe it on the cake. good luck =)

tricia.
