Has anyone ever been inside the shooting arcade? Does it cost extra? If so, how much? Same with the tomorrowland arcade, any good and what do the games cost?

Somehow we have never entered either but my 10 yo DS wants to when we go this month.

Thanks. :goodvibes

To the best of my knowledge, both frontierland and arcade by space mountain costs some money, don't know how much but I figure the same as all game rooms, .50 to 1.00. Not sure if Frontierland Shooting Gallery is a group price per 10 shots or what but neither is free or included on any tickets.

unless something has changed, last February the shooting gallery in Frontierland charged quarters (I think 50 cents, but it could have been more), and once you dropped your quarters, it "charged" your rifle. Don't remember how many shots, but we must have spent betwenn $5 and $10 shooting those things - the kids love seeing the ghost town, and what happens when you hit the various targets.

50 cents to play one round on the rifles. The better you are the longer you can shoot. :cool1:

I read one place that it is 25 shots for 50 cents, but I don't know how old that info is - here is some interesting trivia about it also!

Mosey on up to the Frontierland Shootin' Arcade and pickup a genuine refitted .54 Caliber Hawkins buffalo rifle. Put in a couple of quarters and take aim at tin cans, gravestones, tree stumps (try and hit the possum that peeks out every so often), and other animated targets. Boot Hill is themed with 97 different targets to shoot at, and the landscape includes a bank, jail, hotel and cemetery. When you hit one of the targets, many of which are moving, they make noise, move and provide a few other surprises.
The Frontierland Shootin' Arcade is set in Boot Hill, in the year 1850. This is one of only two attractions that require an additional fee (the other one is the Penny Arcade on Main Street, USA)
When the arcade first opened, real lead pellets were fired from the rifles at the targets. Other than the obvious safety concerns, the rifles soon had to be refitted to no longer shoot these projectiles. The real reason they were modified was paint. Paint? Yup... because the pellets chipped the paint off the props in the attraction, it was necessary for Disney maintenance personnel to repaint the attraction every night. Over the course of a year, it amounted to over 2000 gallons of paint!

Your info mentioned the Penny Arcade -- I miss the Penny Arcade! I've noticed some of the old items from there are scattered around the resort. We found some of the movie machines (you put a penny in and watch a flip animation) are in the Boardwalk Resort now and they still work! Currently the Frontierland Shooting Arcade, the Tomorrowland arcade and the remote control boats in Adventureland are the 'extra' little things that you have to pay for.

the Frontier Shooting Arcade is fun for people in their 30's too.

It was working fine last week and it cost .50cents. YOu get plenty of shots. And there is not a time limit that I know of. I take my time and I always get plenty of rounds off.

Thanks everyone, my DS is very excited to try it out. I don't know how we missed this before!

DS and DH did this in October and thought it was fabulous. My complaint is how many quarters we lost before the silly rifle would actually WORK. DH seemed to be able to get his going without a problem, and he seemed to be able to play for quite awhile before the rifle stopped working, so maybe the length of play is somehow linked to how accurate you shoot!

The rifles are heavy, so be aware that little ones may need some help. :)
