Fronteirland RD with Splash Mountain down?

Planning a trip in spring.

What should you do for a Fronteirland RD is Splash Mountain is down? I was checking wait times this morning just to help plan our RD and saw Splash Mountain was down. I do a thing where I pretend we’re in the park and follow with my plan for the day to see how it goes. When SM reopened we were “riding” Pirates and by the time we were “out” it was at 40 minutes. Was there a better plan other than get on other rides, or in this case should you just look for sameday FPs?

Too much micro-planning around contingencies that you cannot possibly know an answer to in advance.

Just get on any of the other rope drop priority rides. I've never had a problem (other than PP, 7D and sometimes Space) of getting same day on any other ride in the park.

I wonder if something serious is going on with Splash? It was down off and on on July 31st and again most of the day on Aug 2nd. So much so that we were given an any attraction fastpass to use on anything that day.
