My family will be staying on site at WDW from Oct. 2-9th but visiting IOA and US on the 7th and 8th. Would the benefits of FOL be worth renting a room at Universal? Also, I understand that the keys could be picked up early on the 7th but when would FOL stop working on the 8th? Any info. would be most appreciated.

If you get a room and check in on Oct. 7th, the room key will get you FOTL all day on Oct. 7th and all day on Oct. 8th.

Thanks for telling me. In your opinion, would it be worth getting a room just to have FOL as we won't be checking out of CSR (have the free dining plan!).

How many are in your party??? You can purchase express passes for $35 per person which will grant you FOTL access to the main attractions ONCE. That may be cheaper than paying for a room you won't use :cool1:

We will be at CSR, exactly the same time as you. :cool1:
We are also staying at the hard rock after disney from October 11-14.

It might be nice to have a room for the day. The pool is really nice and you might like swimming there. Also maybe, you can squeeze in an extra day at the end of your trip??

My nephew has a time share in Orlando, but always books a room at one of the on site hotels even though they don't stay there. They use it during the day for a rest from the parks or to enjoy the pool and of course the FOTL.

Thanks for all the advice. There are six in our group but I know we would probably be only able to get a max. of 5 FOL. This is our first time in Oct. we usually go mid Nov. and I guess what I'm really asking is do we need FOL at that time to really get the most out of our visits to the park. KLH999 we are staying the entire time at CSR to take advantage of the free dining plan. Staying on site in two rooms was better especially when trying to feed our group.

There are almost no lines in october! I wouldnt waste the money, especially if you have 6 people in your group.... the more people you have in your party the more you pay for your room!! Also, the rates (even discount rates) have gone WAY up!! Can you get a room for less than $210? ( thats the price of express tickets 6x35=210 ) Also keep in mind that the parks dont stay open all that late because of Halloween horror nights.

Save your money. The parks are VERY manageable in the beginning of October during a weekday. The FREE FOTL passes will work perfectly fine for the more popular attractions like the Mummy, Spider-man, etc... Have a great time!!!

FOTL is the best perk EVER! I will not go to Universal unless I am staying onsite - besides the resorts are wonderful.

STAY ONSITE!!!!

Agree, save your money and arrive early. The parks are a ghost town during the day in October. Things start to pick up in the afternoon and everyone arrives for HHN. At night the place is a mob scene.

>Can you get a room for less than $210? ( thats the price of express tickets 6x35=210 )

...But bear in mind that $35 will only get a booklet for one park. If you intend to visit both the Studios and IOA, you'll need two booklets per person.

FWIW, our party of six decided to get a room and circulate the 5 room keys among us. But we're going during the summer rush; I'm not sure that we'd decide to do the same if we were going in October.

I don't think you would need it at all that time of yer. Just plan your day well by arriving early and using the express pass machines if need be.

Lots of advice to consider! Thanks everyone. We do arrive early but in our last trip in Nov. found that we couldn't get on the best rides as often as we wanted to in the p.m. Will HHN make the parks even busier in the afternoon? Finally, off topic, does anyone know when HHN tickets go on sale?

We've decided to book a room at RPH with a late checkout we will have the chance to rest on 2 days. Has anyone ever asked for a 6th room key - or what happens if we "lose" :rolleyes1 a key?

I believe the lost key is deactivated so no one can use it to access your room or charge items to your account. That being said, only very few rides run the room key through a scanner to assure validity.

Are the room keys personalized - if you don't use them for charging to the account, how would they know which key to deactivate?

I haven't read the other replies but FOTL is SO worth it! Without it, we wouldn't have gotten to do all of the rides we wanted to do in 2 1/2 to 3hrs. BTW...FOTL is the reason we went with HRH and their service is FANTASTIC!
