Front Load Washer or Top Load?

We have a LG front loader and we absolutely HATE it. We are thinking of getting rid of it. It shakes so badly that I'm really concerned that it is going to tear the little utility area apart. We bought the washer and dryer and honestly, we haven't been able to tell any difference in our utility bills. We really hate that we bought these and now we are stuck. The dryer isn't as bad as the washer. I'd get rid of that washer in a heart beat. Like a previous poster said about her front loader - HATE.

I have the Cabrio and I LOVE it!!! I also have the cabrio dryer, but not the steam version, but it works great! We chose thse after much thought of top/vs/front loader.. (we couldnt leave the doors open on a front loader, as our w/d is in the hallway with doors that close in front of them) and are very happy.

That is my exact situation as well. Love my Cabrio washer/dryer and it actually holds more than the front loaders. Mine is also upstairs and leaving the door open on a front loader just wouldn't work.

It's easy on the back and no pedestals needed.

It's energy efficient and uses little water so really all of the same benefits of a front loader.

I'm looking for a new w/d also. I'm leaning towards a top load, probably the Whirlpool Cabrio. Anyone have it, the one with the see-through top lid? And what about the steam dryer?

I like this washer a lot. I have to admit it is fun to watch the clothes washing through the see thru lid. It holds lots of clothes and they are barely damp when the cycle is finished. The clothes seem to wrinkle more but I always shake each piece before putting in the dryer. I can add clothes anytime during the cycle by clicking the cancel button and returning to the washing by pushing the start button. I would recommend this washer to anyone.

Ok, so my reasoning will be so funny, but I like a top load washer. And my funny reason is those dang front load washers LOCK....What if you forget to put something in the wash and you REALLY need that item cleaned like NOW???

Mine has a little cancel button on the front that unlocks the door so I can throw something in.

I have a front load and will never get one again... I hope it dies soon so I can get a new top loader!! It uses a lot less water, but all my clothes come out a wrinkled mess! I don't understand how they get soooo tied up in knots.

Wow, I am amazed. I thought everyone would say they love their front loader.

We aren't in need of a washer yet (ours is about 2 years old??) but we got a top loader extra large capacity when we bought it. I can wash a King comforter easily in it.

I seriously thought I'd love a front loader but the mildew smell just made me change my mind.

I have a Maytag version of the Cabrio-no glass to watch the wash. I LOVE mine! It has a huge wash drum. The clothes dry in 1/2 hour because the water is wrung out so well in the spin cycle. This is the new top loader that I bought to replace the awful front loader.

Oh, mine too! Literally the clothes are tied in knots. I have to untie them to put them in the dryer.

I have had my front loads for almost a year and I LOVE them!! Bigger loads, less water, less energy to dry. LOVE them.
