Front Desk Safes??

We arrive on Thursday, November 17 at POR. I will have in my possession a large money order ($2000 +) for tickets for our dance team. I am to pick the tickets up on Saturday at AK. I will then be responsible for said tickets until the group arrives (arrival dates varying from Sunday-Tuesday). I am not comfortable with: a)carrying around such a large money order for three days or b)keeping the tickets with me until everyone gets there. So, I seem to remember that people have left valuables at a safe at the front desk. Can someone confirm this and, given my situation, do you think that is my best option. I know there are in room safes, but I'm very nervous about using them. I don't mind so much keeping my own personal items in the safe in the rooms, but I'm worried about having ALL the tickets and money for our group.

What about getting your tickets at the resort?

I thought about that, but it won't work. Because this is through Disney Youth programs, there are set places to pick up tickets. So, AK was the most convenient of the choices. Plus, everyone won't pick up there tickets at the same time and only three families are staying onsite. I don't mind being in charge of this. I just want to find the safest way to keep the money order and tickets.

Yes there is a safe at the front desk. You could call ahead to make sure. We just returned and the new safe's are electronic, no key, you add your 4 number code (anything you want) Not sure if all the resorts have these new safes. I do like them better then the key safe's

What resort had the new safes? That would make me feel better. Perhaps I should call and reconfirm that there is a safe at the front desk that I can use. Can anyone else think of another solution? I'm just terrified I'll return to my room, open the safe, and all the tickets or money order will be gone!
