From Ziploc to scrapbook...

So how do you do it? I have yet to use any of my swap pieces, but I have finally organized my photos and I am ready to give it a try.

Usually, I choose my photos, sketch my page which includes choosing the size of the photos, print the photos and then I decide on embellishments.

I am kind of stumped...Do I start with the swap pieces I want to use and then find photos that will work? That seems a bit backwards.

I pull my photos- either printed ones or on the computer and then since my swap things are seperated (usually Disney) by park and then land or area within the park- I will pull my embellishments. If I think the embellishments will go with the photos then I plan them into my page. If not I save them for later- sometimes i have way too many embellishments of one things for just a layout anyway.

Like Rebecca, start with photos, find swap stuff to fit (and sometimes Disney works for non-Disney pics and vice-versa) then work with paper/cardstock. To make thigs quicker I sometimes either pick just one sheet of cardstock/perfect fit paper, or pull out trimmings and use them.

I designed 2 pages with swapped items!!! Of course, they are not actually done, but it's a start!

I used some of my stuff from the DLR swap. Did the same thing as the rest of the ladies. Looking forward to using much more soon.

I just used some swap stuff for the first time recently. I got inspired over New YEar's and sorted all my swaps by park, characters, etc. and that's also how I sort my pics to do my book. So I sorted my pics into groups within a park and then found swap stuff to go with each and put the pictures into the baggie with the swap stuff. When I went to that crop, I got 13 pages done (I don't sketch or think I just go with what I feel at the time) and they look great! It was so easy like that - I just grabbed paper to work with the colors and got to work!

I also met someone with an atg gun and sent the info to my sister to get for my birthday next month. Sis tells me 'it's not sitting right here on the chair and the tape is NOT with it' so I just have to wait a month!

No - I'm a nut about keeping the kids' picture off the internet but I can take some pictures and PM them to you. Of course, they haven't made it out of the envelope from that night yet
