From WL to POFQ

After watching the You tuber Tim Tracker and his tour of POFQ we may decide to go there. It looks nice and warm. Only thing is I don’t think they give discounts? We usually go end of May or first of June and get a good discount at WL. Sometimes for a standard room that can take us to the lower $300 range for WL. POFQ is not that much different in price I don’t think? I’m actually torn on this. I don’t do split stays and sure don’t want to go somewhere for a week and be miserable. If POFQ gives a discount then the price difference just may make it worth it. Now after all that rambling I would like to get someone’s opinion that usually stays deluxe like we do. More specifically if anyone has stayed WL numerous times and loved it (like we do) took a chance then stayed at POFQ. What was your thoughts?

We did 3 trips to WL then did one night after a cruise at POFQ and did our next two trips there :). We love POFQ, it’s very well themed, so cozy feeing almost with how small it is for a moderate. I recommend it all the time to people now. Lots of little details, like the “street” names make it very interesting to just walk around in. Being on the river is very peaceful too. The ride down to Disney Springs is really nice and convenient, we love doing it. We bought into DVC after our last trip and were actually sad we likely won’t be staying there again. Little did we know we’d be doing another trip before our first DVC trip lol. We switched it up and are going to CSR and I keep second guessing it because I really like POFQ. You won’t regret it and I rarely say that to people!

Oh and we got a discount for there that my travel agent didn’t even think we could get! I don’t think that’s the norm but they are available sometimes. That was a September trip, and we got one last February as well.

Just got back from week at POFQ. 5 nights river view, 1 night standard (had to extend because of bad weather at home and flight was canceled).

I will say that it was very nice resort but I would only stay river view again (building 6). Got a standard room in building 1 and it was dirty as anything. Looked like no one cleaned the room in weeks. I would stay here again but we like trying different resorts so our next stay at POFQ won’t be for a few years.

We had the same dilemma picking a resort - POFQ vs WL. I’ll be honest and say stay at WL. We almost asked to move from POFQ on day 2 because we disliked the resort so much. But you might love POFQ. Only you can decide that.

Thanks for the info. Just curious what did job dislike the most.

As odd as it sounds, I think the theme of the resort. Also the buses were awful. We waited almost an hour coming back from the parks for a bus to show up. We saw two or more buses for different resorts before we saw one of ours.

We love both resorts. We have had 3 stays at WL, several at Por and one at Pofq. Although POR is our fav moderate, I like the grounds better, we enjoyed Pofq too.
We have had good bus service at all of them.
At POR & POFQ we usually have garden view rooms.
I’m not sure when poster went who had bad service, but I was at wdw early Dec 2017 and bus service resort wide seemed to be a problem, as well as housekeeping. Getting a dirty room has nothing to do with getting a standard view.

POFQ is my very favorite resort. I just love it. It’s quaint and southern and beautiful. The theme is awesome and the ride to DS is relaxing.

I’ll add I’m from south la and Nola is my second home. When I had an issue with my reservation the first time I had to call in for help and the CM, after helping, wanted to chat about why I’d stay there when I had the real thing in my backyard. But I love them both. The real fq, for all its issues, is beautiful and quaint and energetic and pofq, while obviously seriously different, is just a well themed, beautiful resort.
