Hi there! :santa:

Just wanted to stop in and wish everyone a happy holiday season!

Off to start the cooking! Hopefully in the new year I can devote some more time on here!

Good Morning! Happy Boxing day!

THAT, if not the best Christmas ever, certainly ranked in the top 10! Amazingly, the "healthier" substitutions I made weren't even noticed. I subbed in half whole wheat flour in the tea rings - which my husband declared "the best ever". I used sugar free jello instead of regular in the jelled waldorf salad. They loved it. Sugar free chocolate pudding and coolwhip in the mud pie, same story. Low sugar pumpkin roll with marscapone cheese filling instead of calorie dense pie - oh boy!

The weather held off until after the dinner party - and my gosh we opened a bottle of Rosa Regale and the last guests didn't leave until 11 pm and dh actually stayed awake and aware! That's a record, both for the hour and attitude, lol.

My gifts were lovely - all stuff I would want or use - phone calls with the "kids", my two patent certificates printed, ready to scrapbook, a bunch of Chihuly note cards-book-videos, a red amaryllis bulb, hand made chocolates from a friend, and a lovely box of Crabtree and Evelyn lavendar stuff. What more could a woman ask for?

The dishes are washed (thanks dear) and put away (this morning while the coffee dripped) and ready for the next thing. If the roads are decent, I'm off to the gym and pool to work off the excesses of yesterday. If they're not, then the goal is tidy the house and start serious packing for Florida. In either case, laundry, thank you notes, count my many blessings, eat healthy, drink more water.

Hope your day was absolutely THE BEST! and Have a good one, today :)

I am glad you had a lovely low sugar day Linda xxxx
I put the xmas tree up the loft and brought my suitcase down:cool1::thumbsup2:goodvibes:cloud9:

NOW were cooking with gas:thumbsup2

We celebrated on the 24th as DDIL had to work yesterday (7A - 7P) and the middle DS/DDIL spent part of the day with her folks and then youngest DS rushed out midafternoon to head to his girlfriend's so I just tried to recover as my cold has gotten the best of me at this point. Wears me out to do most anything and I am hungry (gee, guess I am not that sick) but nothing tastes right.

Way to go Linda! Glad it was a grand day - sure sounds like it was. And, you have a good time in Florida too - sad to say it will be an entire year before we head much of anywhere but - that week on the Crown Princess (we will be aboard a year from now) and then this trip - I guess I best not complain.

Wow - tree down already?? I will be lucky if mine is down in a week, although I will say, I am not quite ready to take it done.

Not much else happening - our weather is wet and rainy. The drive is a mess but thank heaven it was in good shape when the rains came. It is snowing now so hopefully that dang rain is gone until spring.

Well, continue to enjoy the holiday, don't do too much. Guess I will go and check out the sales whilst picking up a bag of potatoes - I hear there is a pot roast in my future (yeah, like dinner tonight).

Stay safe and warm all!

Yum. Someone said Rosa Regale.

Not a Seinfeld fan so missing on the Festivus. I'll go with an early HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

It's tough to lose a pet at any time of the year, but holidays it's really bad, because one is reminded of it every year thereafter.

When do you leave on your skiing holiday?

I got scared for a minute; this is what you wrote:

3 weeks yesterday:cool1:what about dh, whens he going?

This is what I saw as I glanced rapidly:

"It's tough to lose a pet at any time of the year, but holidays it's really bad, because one is reminded of it every year thereafter."

I had to do a double take and then breathed a sigh of relief.

wideeyedwonder, this one's for you:

I hope you feel better soon..I am down with a flu bug and hoping it leaves soon! I have one more week of vacation and want to enjoy it!

Only you. Lynne!:rotfl2:

I hope you guys who are sick recover SOON!

Good Morning everyone! Back to work today for me. My eyes are heavy and I have no desire to be here at all but, here I am anyway. If we were not so shorthanded, I would have chosen to stay home.

Everyone has flown the coop at our house - children all went to their respective homes, the youngest DS is visiting a friend that had surgery right before the holiday and DH is at Boy Scout camp teaching winter wilderness survival so it is just that just leeaves Walter and sicko here I did get the living room swept yesterday which was good - wanted to run the vac but it took me the balance of the day to recoup from the sweeping project. Guess if this doesn't improve soon I will need to go to the doctors. Typically that is enough to make me get better.

Well, everyone have a great day, stay warm and safe and HEALTHY!

Gail, not sure anybody would choose to be at work!
Def not me, but just done my 24 hrs shift, I was in a foul mood when I got home, after a sleep "stuff" is a bit better.
Hope it goes in fast for you:hug:Look after yourself!

Well, it is lunch time and I am feeling a bit perkier. I do need to run an errand but have no desire but it got put off last week so I really do need to go. But, the sun is kind of shining so maybe it won't be too bad.

Thanks!

Hope it stays shining for you Gail! Snow is predicted for over there AND here :( Of course Bruce is hanging on the weather channel praying "snow harder". The toad.

Well, it is really windy but, no sun as it has started to set but it isn't snowing right now either. And, praying for snow is NOTHING that I will be taking up anytime soon as I am ready for it to be gone. We are supposed to get a few inches tonight - hope it limits itself to just that. Good think we don't live where we get lake effect - they were predicted to get about a foot.

Take care and tell Bruce we said hi!

Are the rest of you guys all speechless in the face of our brilliant conversation? Or still asleep from the overindulgences of the holiday? HOW are we going to stay off page two, at this rate??
